I have a lot of energy and usually wear people out. Singing and music are part of my life. Singing with a quartet or as a vocalist is therapy to me. I am considered quite whitty and prefer a guy that makes me laugh! Everyone that knows me will say I'm most upbeat....a survivor....a lover of kids, pets and life. After retiring as a District Manger from a huge cosmetic company, I moved to Ketchikan and took job with a company working in the accounting department.....love it, the people are the best and most supportive. Love to play in the rain, [and we get a plenty here], and the sun when I get to see it. Like to run rivers with friends, stop into my favorite spots along the way. Visit with friends and do dinner, lunch or breakfast?!! I work a week at a time and do long days, then a week to catch up. I am an intelligent man with a warm personality and very down to earth. I treat people the way I want to be treated, with kindness and respect, which is very important.
I like on rare occasions an assortment of the up's and down's in the culture world. In my spear time, I enjoy reading, some evening TV programs, movies, prospecting and the general stuff in life. I strive to keep my mind and my home life as stress free as possible. This to me is one of the true secrets to true smiles, laughter, and happier life. I love to laugh. I can be quite creative, I love beauty, nature and most things outdoors.

Easy going. I roll with the punches. Very open-minded. Very communicative. After 55 years in the Lower-48’s cities and rural areas, I now live in Ketchikan, AK, a very small town on an island in Southeast Alaska's panhandle where I hike and photograph the Last Frontier's vanishing wilderness. Until recently I boated but it gets boring alone. I have distinct non-city, non-Lower-48 attitudes about life. I have a diversified work history which serves me well here. Have been adjunct faculity at two universities in Calif as well as construction worker, electrician, electronics technician, computer programmer, and computer repair to mention a few. 3 speeding tickets is the extent of my lifetime legal troubles. Like texting on my cell phone. Currently a Certified Nurse Aide in Home Health at our on-island hospital.

As an aging babyboomer I keep myself as active as I possibly can in an attempt to slow down the relentless march of father time. My spare time is spent in my shop working on projects, riding my motorcycle, out in my skiff or out running with "Gunner" my chocolate lab. I am content and grateful at this stage of my life; after all, I did get through my wild and crazy years only spending 1 hour in the old Ketchikan jail. When it counted the most, my name Michael; which means "he who is of the lord" prevailed. Thank God.

Outdoors active to a fault tho I do enjoy many indoor activities, too! As I get older and more set in my ways, I see who I am and where I've been...and tho its not all a bowl of cherrys, I can smile to the thought that I'll slide into homebase a little worse for the wear....but did it my way!! Some of my passions include my mistress (my boat)...and the time I spend with her, photography, nature....and just trying to enjoy life as best I can. When it comes to being unique....I'd have to say that never being married, at my age....seems to be rather rare!! I don't get excited very often anymore....but do get "appreciative" of many things!! A clear star filled night with a moon will always do it.....especially if there's a far off wolf serenade and northern lights!! An inquisitive orca pod, a close encounter with a bear....or an otter playing in a stream.
