I'm 60 years old...still trying to wrap my head around that one. My brain still tells me I'm 21, but the body gives me a reminder from time to time what the reality is : ) Since becoming a widow, I've learned over the last couple of years that life can change in an instant. It's important to remember how precious it is and that it goes on regardless. I'm an ex-hippie and an ex-nun. I've been overweight most of my life, but as I approched 60, I said enough. I had gastic surgery in 2011 and have lost to date 140 lbs. I still have more to lose and I'm well on my way. Unfortunately, my husband passed away one month later. We spent 29 years together, time I consider well spent. They say opposites attract. He was 7 feet tall and me, 4'11. Need I say more ? My family is from New Orleans...African-French Creoles. ..makes life interesting and the food is great : ) I run a small home-based Creole bakery business out of my kitchen. What's important to me now is to live the rest of my days as fulfillingly as I can. I appreciate living now more than ever. Everyday I realize how very blessed I am.
