I love to read and I love to travel. I have a great sense of humor, too. My faith and my family are very important to me.

My weekends are pretty relaxed, but I like to get out and do things, so I usually plan a get-together with friends or family…dinner (love ethnic foods!), a movie, or to a music venue…and of course, being an artist, I love doing things related to art; museums, art galleries, etc. I really enjoy creating; painting, collage, assemblage, etc. I live in a fabulous neighborhood where I have many friends and enjoy walking my dog. I love to travel, whether it’s a short weekend getaway or to Hawaii or Europe and am looking forward to sharing those trips with someone I love.

I try to see the good in people and situations and have a positive outlook on life…my Dad always said “everything always works out for the best, ” and I have to say, in most cases, they do. Believing in serendipity and miracles helps too. I grew up in Michigan and had a happy childhood enjoying the seasons: playing in the autumn leaves, making angels in the snow, and running naked in the sprinklers! …Still feel like a kid sometimes and staying connected to nature is important to me. I count my blessings daily and I have many; my son, my stepkids and my grandkids, and a great family. I love who I am, but I don’t ever want to stop striving to be a better person.

Life is what you make it, I love to laugh and smile. Laughing, smiling and the Lord are at the top of what is important in my life. Each day is a new day with new experiences. I enjoy museums - drag racing and everything in between. I've been an office manager/bookkeeper in large car dealership for 25+ years. But at this time I've decide to pursue my passion. I'm a full time student studying Business Admin Entrepreneur, I work as a residental staff in a transitional home, I'm a part time bookkeeper for a non-profit. I like taking the pieces of a puzzle and putting them together to make something beautiful. I can be shy at first(for a moment), I like people.

I've been a musician most of my life & am now in transition. Like a lot of other people lately I'm starting over, rebuilding my life & cutting my losses. I've been somewhat of a creative free spirit type most of my life with an open mind & have always liked making people laugh. I've always been a good friend, considerate, honest, easy to talk to, conscientious, a good listener, available, supportive & for someone closer I can be very affectionate. I also love having fun being playful with someone special and at times would rather be with the kids than the grown-ups. Helping others even if I don't know them is something else that I like to do.

A main focus for me lately has been cutting edge & alternative health & I'm working at living a healthy lifestyle, especially with eating though it has been difficult. Other passions lately have included animal rights (abuse, treatment, etc), the environment, the current dangerous political environment & the media that supports it, & the general American public's unawareness about what is really going on. I love learning-exploring-sharing, dog-walking, cooking for family and friends, NPR in the car, other countries, offbeat movies, thrift-shopping (somebody stop me!), good plays, comics on occasion, restaurants with booths. I like rock’n’roll, country, folk, dreamy jazz vocals, singer-songwriters, melodic symphonies, musical theater, you name it.

Grew up in Ohio, moved to Manhattan after college and came to LA 20 years ago for work but stayed for the weather. I'm a glass-half-full type who believes that joy comes from within and happiness is ours to make. Had a bunch of careers, done lots of interesting things, have no intention of stopping anytime soon. Self-reliant, debt-free, happy-go-lucky but allergic to cats and men who love them.

I'd love to fall in love again -- having been happily single and happily married, there's still no comparison. Waking up every day and turning in every night next to the same well-chosen partner feels way sweeter and richer and lots more fun than going it alone. In the meantime, just getting to know a nice guy to meet for a movie or a meal or a friendly walk'n'talk would be lovely.

Mostly, I am curious. About the World around me, why things are. That creates various hobbies, changing with time. I like reading mostly non-fiction, classical music and international folk, plus oldies from years ago. Photography, cooking, reading. Liberal, with an independent and skeptical streak. Don't need a guiding spirit (God) in my life; there is enough wonder in nature to satisfy my spirit (Kant). Am happy the way I am, but would like someone to share thoughts, activities, life.

My passion in life is working with adolescents , veterans and adults using counseling and neuro feedback to give them a new start in life.I am a psychologist and thoroughly take pride in my successes and work hard to find the right techniques for each individual-a sense of humor is always part of the plan! I enjoy family, my daughter and I both have doctorates in psychology, my son, 18, and my son-in-law enjoy sharing special occasions whether at home or on an exotic island, cruise or well planned vacation abroad. I guess you could say I enjoy life to its fullest. I have raised my family as a single parent and starting a family all over is not on my list of things to do .I am always learning something new and interesting-right now it's Italian and improving on the salsa, and soon may include more horseback riding lessons. I'd love someone to practice with me:) I will probably be going off the site within 5 days.

I've spent a month in: Thailand (twice), Costa Rica (twice), Australia, and Southern France (from Marceilles to Monte Carlo), Hong Kong and China (twice each); and visited most major cities in Europe.

I go to theater monthly and movies weekly.

I'm highly energetic, reasonably fit, politically astute, overtly passionate, possess an easy laugh, and am up for almost anything. I dance several nights a week for 2-3 hours a night... I hope you dance too. (or would like to learn).

Im a hard working man, like to have everything I can. Im economically very independed, dont like to be push around or depend on others, well business oriented. Im not a follower, but a leader. grown up open mind.

Ive worked hard throughout my life and am now secure enough to slow down. Im in the film industry, writer producer and am developing several projects. I have time to travel and wish to share that desire with someone.

5 feet 9 inches. 165 pounds. Swim, run (well, shuffle), salsa, ballroom, swing. MA (History) Marxist. Atheist. "Black." To say/write I was "great, " would be trite. Vegan. Hearing impaired: frustrating. But don't have much trouble hearing a band playing. Why me? Quit drinking (and smoking) distilled spirits after surviving my first hangover, at 22. Do like an occasional half a glass of sweet/dessert wine. Have passport, but can't afford to travel much.Been to Western Europe about 10 times. Drove around Mexico quite a bit.(before the "troubles."
Avoid Hollywood movies like the plague. Load up at AFI festival, Scan film festival (next month), French COL*COA festival. All in LA.
Love the beach rain or shine. Though the music is usually pedestrian, do weekends at Fisherman's Village, people watching.
Write lots of letters to LA TIMES. Get about 2 a year published. Regularly write comments on the CNN Website, as i feel I have something to say.
Like to drive. Have never bought a new car. Have 10 thumbs, but did design and help build my house.
My personal life is complicated. What, still? I'm not good at telling lies.
