Hi, thanks for visiting my profile. Hopefully the ideas in the next few lines will give you an honest sense of me. An unorthodox blend of the conventional and the offbeat, I hold degrees in Art History and computer science, own a sewing machine and a Skillsaw. Raised in Southern California. My parents loved language, and each had a great sense of humor. At the dinner table, the whole family took turns spinning stories about the events of the day (not all, strictly speaking, 'non-fiction'). I had a warm relationship with my mother, who passed away in the Nineteen Eighties, but first instilled in me a great love of life, and a tremendous admiration for women. My father has been a fine role model of integrity and fairness. Over the years, I have had some rich, romantic relationships. I have grown in each, and when (sadly) it was time to say good-bye, I let go, and moved forward. Which brings us to today. I am a communicative, emotionally available, thoughtful and engaging man. I am seeking a long-term relationship, but I know the future will unfold on its own timetable. I'm 56 years old, father of 2 boys aged 23 and 25, and daughter 32, four grandkids. No kids or grandkids at home. I'm educated (BA, graduate degree), financially secure, enjoy concerts, talks, books, bookstores, movies, photography, genealogy, travel (2 trips to Africa in '98, Four Corners area family archaeology trip '01), conversation, lectures, genealogy, and a variety of activities.

My weight goes up and down, right now it's up; if you want Ken, I'm not Ken. I practiced law for some years, and taught school -- mainly high school World History -- for some years, now retired unless something fantastic comes along.

I love gardening and being outside, hiking, camping, enjoying the forests, boating and fishing.. I think I have a little tom boy built in to me and a pioneer spirit. i am looking for someone who is closer to San Jose because i am still working Monday to Friday, traveling between China and Canada everal times a year and i do not have much time to commute long distance. Therefore, i am not considering long distance relationship though i know i will miss a lot of good men who are out there.

I grew up in the splendid confines of New England and have wonderful memories of crunching my feet under autumn leaves. I love the arts, especially photography and film. I enjoy spending time outside breathing fresh air and appreciating nature, and I have visited a few National Parks that have taken my breath away. I like having conversations about a wide variety of topics and have a very inquisitive mind. I admire beautiful design and find as I have gotten older that I appreciate it more than I used too. I enjoy cooking, especially baking.
