SOMEWHATWARY, 61
I'm serious but love to laugh, independent (self-sufficient), physically active and health conscious, passionate about certain causes, generous (sometimes to a fault), politically liberal, of Jewish background but not currently religious. I'm an avid reader (of fiction, The New Yorker, the New York Times), love music (opera, classical, Bob Dylan, 60s folk), enjoy theater and movies (mainly independent) and travel. I enjoy walking/hiking (usually walk 5+ miles a day). I work out regularly (at home) on a treadmill, with weights. I'm a former vegetarian, current "fishetarian." My favorite cuisines are Asian, Indian & Mediterranean/Middle Eastern. I enjoy wine.
I'm a medical writer and editor, spent the better part of my career (22 yrs) at Encyclopaedia Britannica, currently work for a pharmaceutical/healthcare advertising agency. I also edit a bi-monthly yoga magazine and a quarterly literary journal. The work I currently do that I'm most passionate about and find most fulfilling is volunteer work for a homeless ministry.
