300 characters....hmmmm, well I am looking forward to meeting some fun people!! I am basically a gypsy, who can set up shop just about anywhere and be pretty much OK. I didn't really have a misspent youth, so I guess my goal would be to do so as an adult, LOL. I can be geeky and quirky; have a wide range of interests, can't be without my music (Lady A, Eminem, John Mayer, Gary Allen, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Bonnie Raitt, BB King are getting the play these days...it changes), a good road trip ( last was Dry Falls/Grand Coulee Dam), a gas stove (the better to cook with), or my pets (since when are dogs and cats mutually exclusive???...boring). I'm pretty mellow, and get along with most folks; despite that the whole "relationship" thing has been a drag and a conundrum, and I'm looking to change that. Just moved to SEA, and I love it already!!

I am a quiet guy with a big heart. I look for the good in all things, even though not all things are good. I like kids, and I work with kids and ponies: what fun! Im pretty intelligent, except when Im not.

I am a native of the Seattle area, grew up in the North End and went to school in Edmonds. I did live away from the area for 7 years, 6 in the Air Force and 1 year living in Los Angeles. I love living in the Northwest, with the beauty of the mountains, the lakes and rivers, Puget Sound and the ocean and the desert, canyons, and wheatfields of Eastern Washington.
I value friendship greatly and I like to hang out with friends, talking over a cup of coffee, taking a walk around Greenlake, driving through the countryside and exploring the small towns, traveling to a place like the Kingdom of Tonga, the Cook Islands, Iceland, and the list can go on and on. Plus, a fishing trip off the Washington Coast or in Alaska or in the Gulf of Mexico.

I'm quickly approaching a crossroad. After practicing law for 20 years, I've grown wrestles. Recently, I rediscovered something I had lost or forgotten -- a passion for the voiceless -- animals. I want to change my life direction and possibly open a wildlife refuge -- don’t know how to do this and my plan is just in its formative stages. I simply cannot stand by and watch hunters kill animals just so they can stick a trophy on their living room wall; I simply cannot stand by and acknowledge that unwanted animals are destroyed on a daily basis. So, to be honest, I do not know where I'm headed. I want to try to finish my work in WA. by writing and proposing a bill to make the trophy hunting of cougars in WA. Illegal. It's time consuming and costly, hence, I don’t know where this journey will take me.

I have a great life. I am on my second profession that I enjoy. Every year my life has become more intersting and fulfilling. I am interested in taking good care of myself, building strong relationships, and nurturing the ones that I have. I am a cross between liberal and conservative. I have old fashioned beliefs, but put my love for people and their right to choose above all.

I am an easy going woman looking for someone to enjoy marriage or a long-term relationship with. I like to think I speak my mind without being pushy. I enjoy spending time with my partner but I am able to entertain myself with my own interests and welcome anyone who wants to spend time with me but also have days for just him and his friends. I value values and take commitments seriously. I am a one man type of gal and am able to have fun while still being a lady. I like some dogs, most cats, all horses and all children. I am content to stay around the house as well as take off on a trip to Africa. I am very tolerant and enjoy other cultures. My favorite color is greeeeeeen.

I am semi retired. I practice law (estate planning and probate) on a part time basis having cut my practice back severely when my late husband was ill. I enjoy reading, theater, movies, ballet, opera and the symphony. I also like to spend time outdoors particularly hiking and bicycling. I intend to get back to cross country skiing soon. I used to scuba but would have to re-certify if I wanted to take it up again. I tutor my 15 year old Chinese nephew and make quilts for the Linus Project. I am open to new activities and interests. I have traveled in Europe for months at a time with one small bag and a day pack. I have loved every trip to Mexico I have ever taken. I bought an ancient Airstream and look forward to traveling with that when the renovation is completed. I haven't seen as much of the US as I would like, mostly just NY, the four corners region and DC. I want to see more. I plan to visit many of the national parks and lots of museums. Oh, and I love thrift stores.

I am disabled, not crippled, and retired. I am on a fixed income. I was an Electrical Designer, Draftsman and at times had the titles Engineer, Technician or Drafter. I don't drink (except glass of wine with dinner on occasion), don't do drugs or smoke. I am hoping to learn the Harmonica and Guitar.

Friends describe me as kind, warm, optimistic, open, and adventuresome. I embrace life and live it fully with a sense of meaning and insatiable curiosity. I am a sailor, kayaker, swimmer, and I love most everything done in or on water. Working-out regularly and being involved in sports is something I have always done. I am in awe of nature, and enjoy hiking and snowshoeing in the mountains. I like to read quietly and have animated conversations about matters of substance. I'm a fairly good cook, and I like entertaining others, and being introduced to novel cuisine. I have traveled extensively in our fragile and glorious world, and treasure my friends both afar and close at hand.

I don't really know how to describe myself. I'm just me...but that's pretty good. Complicated and simple...j like everyone else. My bio says I have two children. I adopted my grandaughter a few years ago so I legally have three children and she is the one I live with. I've raised her most of her life and she is now 15. I like photography, gardening, travel, reading, theatre, walking -- I enjoy mountains or water, country or the city. I can find something to enjoy wherever I am, doing whatever I'm doing. Pretty low maintenance, I think. While not a fanatic, I enjoy sports. I enjoy my little RV and use it often. I like antiquing, exploring second hand stores, going to quilt shops or hardware stores. I'm not a rabid shopper but I enjoy browsing. I'm forgiving by nature, not into arguing and don't think relationships should be hard. I'm not saying you don't have to work at them, but they should have a flow that comes easy.

I'm a Christian, recently widowed, financially and emotionally stable, enjoy travel, music, movies, reading, current events, bargain shopping, and volunteering. I have a good sense humor and laugh a lot (sometimes at myself). I'm compassionate, a good listener, even tempered, honest and trustworthy. Also a classic car owner.

Most people take me to be 70-75 years of age, but I am a healthy, fit 88 ("Incredibly fit" in the words of my doctor). I am 5' 10" and weigh 158 lb., inquisitive, adventurous, compassionate, well-educated, and have a good sense of humor and a love of learning. I read a lot (Seattle Times, NY Times, New York Review of Books, several other magazines, science, history, biography, and occasionally a novel.) I have a wide range of interests - nature, science, current events, the performing arts, photography, and travel. I like the out-of-doors and used to hike and climb throughout the Cascades and Olympics, but I no longer backpack. I enjoy adventure and travel and exploring new places. I like dining out (and do so often), the theater (I go to six or more plays a year), concerts, (I have season tickets to one of the Seattle Symphony series.), opera, folk, jazz, and soft rock. I like good movies and am a member of SIFF. I am politically liberal but am respectful of others with different opinions that are based on thoughtful consideration. I am retired with a comfortable income. Like most scientists, I am an empiricist, and that in turn means I do not believe that there is a god that intervenes in the world's affairs.
