Received a master's degree in counseling, and worked in the field of alcoholism for several years before finding employment with the U.S. Postal
Service. After working there for 28 years, I retired several years ago. Currently, I'm looking at the possibility of working with alcoholics again. When I was young, I dedicated myself to being dysfunctional, and was quite good at it. Since then, I have undergone so much personal growth that I'm now able, at times, to pass myself off as an actual grown-up.

Former Chicagoan who escaped the cold 8 years ago listening to that voice in my head say "go west, not so young man". i enjoy gardening and am happy that I can do it all year long. i give most of my vegies away. I live alone with my two dogs who I talk to quite a bit which is pretty much a one sided conversation, which is why I am on here. i also sing to my dogs even though I cant carry a tune in a bucket. Seems to amuse them.
In turns of my accomplishments: I won a ping pong tournament in the 8th grade (low turn out), I did some extreme skiiing, and ran 18 marathons. But my greatest achievement is peeling an egg in one continious piece.

I'm very independent, stable, self aware, creative, artistic and have a knack of thinking out of the box. I have been self employed for over thirty years in the Construction Maintenance (Contractor/Remodeling) field. Although I am a Licensed Contractor, I have found a knitch as a Handyman doing regular repairs on home that are larger than 6000 sq. ft. There is always something to repair. Referral only and I have an established client base. I have made a good living at it. I will probably never retire. I enjoy working. I enjoy living a simple low stress life. Getting rich has never been a goal, but just like most other boys that never grow up. I have my toys. I enjoy tinkering with thing, creating, inventing, building and restoring muscle car, building computers and collecting mechanical works of art. Like old watches. Not really into most sports if it does not have a petroleum product envolved in some way. I like going out to a dinner and a movie, but a car show, a race, home & garden show, gun show or any other gadget show would peak my interest more. I can watch the movie at home and order a pizza. I'm very into world events and the politics of the day. I'm quite serious about my Christian beliefs. I'm not into any religion.

I am very creative and open-minded, I have an easy-going personality and love to have fun, laugh and joke-around. I am basically a very happy person inside and out.

I have always been a loyal, devoted and supportive one-woman at a time boyfriend. I truly enjoy pampering and pleasing my partner.

I am well read and fairly well educated and can intelligently converse on almost any subject. I am as at ease with artists and musicians as I am with engineers and attorneys, and I equally enjoy the company of all of these types of people too as every person is interesting in their own way.

I have always been a stand-up guy with a strong character and great integrity. I'm a persistent and determined person who has pretty-much accomplished everything that I have set my mind to. My most recent success has been in getting a large vintage car museum opened in the Scottsdale Pavilions Shopping Center. I appreciate vintage vehicles the way some people appreciate fine wines or fine art and I feel that the truly Classic cars are nothing less than rolling sculptures.

I exercise, mainly aqua aerobics, and daily most of the time.
I enjoy traveling, going to theater of all kinds such as Broadway shows, symphony, etc., movies and of course, eating out. I especially love dancing and really miss not being able to go to a beach as I moved from So Cal. I like doing something I have never done before or new experiences.

I must say this is hard to do. Well, I haven't been "out there" in a long while... mostly because I had some introspection and soul searching to do. But let me tell you I am ready to socialize, learn new things, laugh a lot and much more. I feel happy with my imperfect self and I am busy tuning up and improving every day. I am a good friend, decent cook and I can keep a secret. Oh, almost forgot, I am a handy-lady and DIY home owner. I've never played golf, hiked and was on a bike a few times. There, I said it! But my Mom and Dad had a Harley, I've played miniature golf with kids and I climbed a hill with my best gal friend 15 years ago. Does any of this count? I do have some wonderfully interesting experiences to talk about and besides I'm a good listener.
I like to fish and would like to learn how to hunt as long as we eat what we catch.

Enjoy getting away to the mountains in a cabin, or going to California to see family and friends. Now taking care of my 95 year old father that lives with me. I have nurses that help out around the house for that but just need to check up on him.

I have been told I am a tuff teddy bear ( if that makes cence.) I retired three years ago and got board so now have two small business that I run (more work than I wanted)(lol)

I was born in KC, Mo., came to AZ in my mid 20s and have never left. I never thought I would but at this point I feel anything is possible. I have one grown son who lives nearby.
