I'm a shy person, however, as I get to know people I tend to loosen up. I'm a homebody, however, I do enjoy getting out of the house. I enjoy plays, musicals, movies, and watching different sporting events. I was a flight attendant for 40 years and retired at the end of August 2012. Needless to say, I enjoy traveling and look forward to spending some time in the places I travel to rather than wishing others a good time! I have 2 grown children and one amazing grandson! I have two dogs and a cat and love my animals almost as much as I love my kids! I enjoy cooking and love the Spring and Summer when I can spend time in my yard planting new flowers and digging up old ones! I recently moved to CO to start a new phase of my life. I am seeking a companion that shares common interests and experiences. I actively enjoy the outdoor Colorado life style; spending time with my grandchildren, travel, good friends, good food, and wine.

We always had room at our table for an extra plate & no one was ever turned away. I love to country dance, it takes me back to my roots and it is a wonderful way to express myself & release stress. I also ballroom, I know just enough to be dangereous. I consider myself to be gracious, I was taught to express love & freely give & receive affection. I have the ability to carry myself with confidence no matter what the situation, be it pleasure, business or dining out. I'm independent, when I have a bad experience I learn from it & move forward. Over the years I have tried not to sweat the small stuff & choose my "arguments/battles" very carefully. While I have not been married, I have had two long term, serious relationships. I enjoy the outdoors in summer and winter for walking, gardening, hiking, snowshoeing, you name it. I consider myself in good physical shape.....year round tennis 2-3 times a week and swimming. I eat healthy most of the time. As a retired Ph.D.university professor, I keep up with some of my favorite academic things....like writing. I listen to public radio/watch public television....to give you an idea of my values. Also, I am not practicing any religion at this time. I like having small group dinner parties. I am pleased with Denver's dining, art, museum, and music alternatives (e.g., classical, jazz, folk, etc.). I have traveled widely and look forward to more of this. I would enjoy doing these activities with a special someone as well as selected new interests he brings to our relationship. When I go out with friends or a special someone and because I am slender, I dress younger than most women my age. That is, I enjoy current styles played down a bit and love my high heels. I am equally comfortable in jeans or shorts.

I live near a lake which has quite a lot of good fish and I'm trying to learn how to catch them. Haven't had much luck yet but will persevere. Have retired from projects and passions but follow my children and grandchildren with enthusiasm.

My motto in life is (why not) I like the fun things in life. I have a good life and would like to share it with a special lady.

I'm employed in the technology field as a computer network manager. I also teach technology part time at a local technical college as well as fill in as a substitute teacher in the K-8 grades as needed.I have my MS in economics and international business as well as a MS in technology management. I love to do just about anything that is "outdoors" regardless of the time of year. I also love movies and collecting antique books and art. Travel is a big passion of mine. I love the experience of other cultures and all we have to learn from them.

Let’s begin with now – Recently retired from a career in marketing research where I owned a small consulting firm in Denver – we conducted survey research for various corporations. Currently learning how to enjoy more free time and ‘retirement’ although I am still somewhat busy and still have dreams to fulfill. Although at this age we all have a ‘history’ I carry very light baggage. No children and currently no pets, as I no longer wish to be tied to the responsibility of that kind of care and feeding. Truthfully, I am on the go too frequently traveling and spending time in Denver, Vail, and other places to properly care for pets these days.

Background for me includes: Grew up in Georgia (that’s Georgia, USA). Education at U of GA. Have traveled extensively in Europe and Mexico; plus visited almost all states in the US. Like downhill skiing (formally addicted to it), which drew me to Colorado in 1979. Also enjoy travel to off the beaten path places and understanding the people and cultures existing there. Generally people tell me I’m easy going, considerate, kind, curious, and down to earth. After dressing “business professional uniform” for years, I prefer casual these days.
