I've been divorced for some time now...I had a great time being married, but I'm also having a great time being single, but I do miss having someone special in my life. I love to cook (most recent trip was to go to cooking school in Tuscany) and nothing makes me happier than cooking and entertaining for friends - Grandma's meatballs are the most requested dish. Good wine, of course, is a given. Love watching football - my Steelers at one of the Steeler bars in Chicago (although this year not so good), and Notre Dame games in person (my tailgates rock!) - thankfully a great year for the Irish.

I'm from a small steel town (North of Pittsburgh), but ended up moving and experiencing different cities in my adult life -- places like NYC, Philly, Denver, and now the most fabulous city, Chicago. Very lucky to have friends in all of these places to visit (including Jr. High school friends). My blue collar upbringing keeps me grounded and down-to-earth - experiencing different cities has introduced me to some of the finer things in life. It's a good balance.

A life transition found me returning to the mid-west... New place, new people, new work, new life, new outlook...Sort of like getting a "do-over". Pretty exciting to be able to recreate myself and find joy and happiness and a new lease on life.

I believe in sustainable agriculture, permaculture, grass fed beef, organically grown food, self-sufficiency, solar power and recycling. I remember to bring a cloth bag to the grocery store most of the time. I return shopping carts. I don’t spit gum out the window of the car. I’m willing to try just about anything as long as it’s legal and won’t get me killed.

As a retired educator, I find that portrait painting, photography and travel are among my favorite pursuits. The arts including: theater, dance, film, and performance are also important to me. I really enjoyed Joseph Campbell's Power of Myth. In daily life, I tend to get comfortable with a situation or a person and resist change, which makes me very loyal. I do love trying new things with my faithful companion, however, and am always interested in learning something new about this wonderful world. I have 3 grown children and 5 fabulous grandchildren! Love good movies, theatre, opera (especially the Met Live at AMC). I do cook, but like to eat out at a favorite restaurant. I enjoy travel, but not so interested in travelling alone.
