What's the one thing you refuse to live without?
I refuse to live without music (Parliament to Charlie Parker to Palestrina), travel(Turkey, Italy, Yucatan....
Who am I....brilliant, funny, inscrutable, compassionate, dynamic, serene, intense.... a "good boy" who can be "bad."
The one "S-O-B" you'd want to have in the foxhole with you.... the last person you'd want to have to keep a straight face with at a serious function......an absolute original.
I run marathons and triathlons, 500 mile bike rides, play piano, compose music, sing classical music, play hooky and dream and live way, way outside the box.
While I certainly set my sights high and achieve pretty much all that I desire, in the area of "achievement" I am actually more in alignment with Lord Bertrand Russell when he said,
"One of the symptoms of an approaching nervous breakdown is the belief that one's work is terribly important."
In contrast, I deeply believe the quality of MY LIFE is terribly important!
