Outgoing, happy, positive person, I also like periods of quiet time. I LOVE retirement because I spend my time the way I choose. Spontaneity works best for me - ex: to call up one of my sons & see if they are free gives me great pleasure to jump in my Prius to head for KCity or Chicago. I'm not majorly into exercise, but I've always been 'at home' in the water, so water aerobics is enjoyable, not work - as is water volleyball; tho I'm horrible at it! Am not vying for the Olympics, so I just have fun! After visiting many churches several years ago, I found a non-denominational one that's spiritually nourishing & challenging --a community that's a good "fit" for me. Am involved in teaching Sunday school, distributing communion, weekly Bible study, & a womens' study group. Currently, my daughter & two granddaughters live with me, a temporary situation until her life becomes more settled when she finally becomes free from her addict husband. I have a lovable, loving and slobbery yellow lab who will be two in early Aug. Have always loved dogs; always been deathly allergic to cats. Every day when I awake, I thank God for my life & ask Him to guide my day. He's in charge & so far, He's done an awesome job!

I LOVE: Spending time with my family especially my granddaughter, gardening, to be outside, exercising (weights, power walking, biking is about it because my knees are shot from b'ball and tennis.), watching sports (b'ball, football, >yes, I yell at the TV and I do believe it helps :) traveling, Italian food, steak, and Chinese food, music (no rap, hip hop, alternative), walking in the rain (corny, I know), fireplaces, nice smiles, children, proactive people, the ocean, the mountains, dip (just give me a spoon), flowers, dressing up and wearing sweats or jeans, , , usually not at the same time, duct tape,
I HATE: below-zero weather, liars, cheaters, and dishonest people, arrogance, ignorance, conflict, arguing, close-minded people, people with no sense of humor, being the center of attention, Japanese beetles, tattletales, hypocrites.
I AM: honest, helpful, loving, loyal, independent, a thinker, a list-maker (why didn't I invent post it notes/??), family oriented (but not to the point of letting my "kids" move back in with me), empathetic, an active listener, silly, feisty, sensitive about my height so i prefer men taller than me, part Cheroke (so watch out),

I'm a retired engineer who enjoys all outdoor activities and wildlife. I love to fish, boat, hike, play golf and show my vintage muscle car at local shows. I have a great sense of humor and enjoy the same from others.

Like woodworking and outdoors. I love to find antiques and try to rebuild them. I admit I have been known to cry at a movie, but I will not tell anyone if you don't. I spent 20 years in the military as an Air Force Cop, and as a Disaster Preparedness Specialist traveling the word teaching chemical warfare training. I was just getting ready to deploy to Irac and Afganastan and I had a career ending accident in Puerto Rico. (Not looking to vacation there anytime soon). I am now working as an Emergency Manager. Still looking for some good photo to put on. Problem is I am usually taking the pictures and not in much.

I love it when someone can make me laugh. I'd really like to find that someone special who makes my eyes light up when I see them....that makes my heart skip the tiniest beat. Someone who's voice makes me weak in the knees when they call. Someone to share life's joys and sorrows. At the same time let nature take it course when it comes to love. When we are both ready and wanting we can make a life together. I guess not try and push someone into it. That can throw love off track and even though you may start to love that person you still have to be ready in your mind and heart.

I am very easy going. Family and friends very important to me.
I enjoy watching football, basketball, soccer, baseball, NASCAR, hockey, traveling, fishing, camping and riding my bike on the Rock Island Trail. Sometimes I just like to sit quietly and watch the sun rise or the sun set and listen to the birds chip.

I Love to Volunteer for the right cause. Am a Regular church attender! I am a Catholic and would like someone of the same faith!

Nearing retirement, like the outdoors, hiking, mountains, golf. Not a handyman, but can change the oil, cut the lawn, etc. Not a partygoer, but like to have fun too. Good sense of humor, like to laugh. Friendship first.

Very new to the on-line thing. Well-educated, successful business professional. I am very old-fashioned about relationships. I am a hopeless romantic who values good conversation over bars and the singles scene. I like to work hard and play hard.

I have been a college professor for 24 years and really enjoy my work. At this time I have not plans for retirement. I Like to have stimulating conversation. I have two great kids (son and daughter) and two wonderful grandsons. Luckily they live within 3 hours of here. I love to learn and travel. I have been to Ireland the last two summers and plan to go to Northern Ireland and Scotland this summer. I enjoy having pets and currently live with 3 terriers, 2 Westies and one rescue. Always interesting with them around.

The main things that "make up me" are that my faith, family and friends are the most important things to me, and once I am your friend I am a very loyal friend indeed. The motto I live by is "Live, Laugh, Love, " which is good because I have a great sense of humor and love to laugh. I am a very giving person to everyone I know and I love to get involved with a good cause. I am generally up for just about anything (as long as it's legal...ha-ha). So, in a nutshell, these are the basic qualities that make me who and what I am.

I am an honest, open, funny woman. I believe that humor is very important in life. I'm energetic, work full-time as a nurse on a Medical/Surgical floor, and have a hard time believing that I'm the age I am!! I feel much younger than my age! My passion is traveling and I've visited 42/50 states. I plan on making it 50 when I can schedule a trip to the NW. My favorite places are the natural beauties in our country.... the Grand Canyon, beaches, the redwoods.... much more my style than, say, Las Vegas nightlife.

I am now entering the last third of my life. I want it to be the best. I have survived marriage, being a widow, and every kind of problem one can imagine with the 2 girls and my grandsons..I have been working as an RN for the last 25 years mostly in Psych and with the DD population. I love working with the computer as the possiblitilits are endless as far as learning goes. Photography is something I really enjoy. Taking a picture...and enlarging a tiny section of it on one of the picture programs is great. If I had more time..I would be traveling and hunting for gorgeous rocks or shells.or discovering all I have read about via computer like the pyramids in Egypt of all the mysteries in Peru of the Myans. I would be a great partner as I am loving, caring, giving, honest, love talking about all the subjects of the universe, and compromise is a big part of my communication skills as is expressing myself to my partner emotionally. Also I love laughter and teasing my partner and vice versa of course.. Working together with my partner in a garden or on the house or yard is very satisfying as is having someone who can help me with all my computer questions.

I am a friendly, loving person who is shy when I first meet someone. (Don't ask my close friends about the shy part - they will crack up laughing.) I have been with the same company forever and really enjoy my job.
