I try to look for the best in everyone. I am more prone to alone time than to large social gatherings. I thoroughly enjoy listening to another's story and am a good listener. I do however also appreciate being granted that person's full attention when I have something to say. I am loyal and honest, friendly and willing to try new things. I have sort of fallen off the exercise wagon, but am starting back up and would love someone to share that with as well, be it walking, hiking, biking...whatever. I look forward to watching the major tournaments in golf and tennis every year. My coworkers think I'm crazy, but I can't help it. I do have to admit to taking the occasional nap while in front of the TV if the contest is one-sided or the athletes are not of interest to me. :-)

I have recently moved to Marengo, IA, from CA., what a difference. I love animals, they have been my life for quite a while now, I have 3 red eared slider turtles, and 1 little frog. I greatly love being out doors.

I have always treated my men with high priority, I guess I was just raised that way. I never expect anything from a man ( I probably should have) but anyway, I have been divorced for 15 years, and just one serious relationship after that. I do not go out a lot - probably because my relationship just wanted to stay close to home, which was ok too, but I am looking for a man that wants to meet a very honest and loving woman, I love to talk and can be funny if the occasion calls for it. I am a substitute teacher of special needs students. When I am not substituting, volunteering is a main part of my leisure time. I love reading and belong to a book club. I really enjoy being out doors and walking or playing most anywhere. I enjoy golf, tennis, hiking, biking, camp fires, beaches, mountains, and just enjoy taking in the beauty of our world. I frequently take the back roads to places and avoid the interstates if possible. I like to make unexpected stops to enjoy whatever catches my fancy. I am spontaneous and enjoy doing things spur of the moment. At the end of a long day a glass of wine, a crackling fire, and someone to share them with are almost heaven!!!

I am very much enjoying retirement, although I keep very busy, I love my dog, gardening, decorating, Sunday drives. I really enjoy the theatre, movies, taking walks when the weather is nice, listening to music, dancing, dining out, finding new places to eat and visit and most anything that is fun to do. I am very romantic, love moon light evenings and a good glass of white wine. I am pretty demanding about being honest, open communication and the need to talk through things when the occasion arises. I am quite independent but enjoy helping others and volunteer at church. I like to be with people who are fun and don't take themselves too seriously. Life is too short not to enjoy it.

I`m a young 74 still thinking like I`m 40. I retired from the U of IOWA in 98. I was the Directer of Maint. at the Oakdale campus. Loved it. I`ve worked afew jobs since and enjoyed all them. Love working on houses and can fix pretty much anything that needs fixed.

I am a retired teacher of 34 years. Spent 27 of those years teaching in Australia before moving back to Iowa I moved back to Iowa for family reasons. I am somewhat shy but it depends on the person i am with.

I am usually a happy person who likes to take time to "stop and smell the roses". I enjoy life. I laugh easily; and talk daily to God. I've been told I'm extremely patient and caring. I can get very enthusiastic watching the Cyclones play football. I like country music, fishing, and walking in the woods or along the lake. Eating out and a good movie always makes for a good time and can spark a lively conversation depending on the movie. I like to travel and hope to see the whole US some day. I have no desire to go overseas.

I am a hard working person, but I also know the value of relaxation. I like to travel and have fun in a variety of ways from a good show to taking off on day trips. I excersise every other day for 2 hours and have lost 40 pounds since my knee replacement in February of 2012. I am happily divorced but open to a new relationship with the right person. I have two beautiful grandchildren that are the light of my life.
