I'm into the artistic and creative. I've loved poetry all my life. I've dabbled in performance art. Five years ago I became a visual artist. I'm passionate about learning -- not only in the classroom -- but everywhere. I feel lucky to have the chance to explore whatever grabs my attention now.

I love my independence; and though I would like very much to find a true partner, I'm not often lonely. There's just too much to do and see in this world. I truly feel that I have entered one of the best, most exciting chapters of my life.

I do however enjoy things that carry some intellectual depth and weight to them... whether it be a good book or an article, a movie or documentary, non-mainstream music or music that actually has a message, and stimulating conversations with people who want to talk about something other than the current reality TV show or celebrity scandal. But be careful, I can hold my own when it comes to discussion about politics and religion.

. I like to ride a bike. I love to be down by Portland Harbor. I enjoy South Portland and their Green Trail. I found an old bike at the dump on Riverside St. I rebilt it and I am proud of it. I dont like to be in charge in the kitchen but I will cut, chop, stir and the like to help with the meal. I enjoy family but mine is dwindling through attrition. Hello, I am the mother of 2 great young men. Most of my time the past decade has been spent on various and assorted kid related activities, cheering from the bleachers, learning the basics of fly fishing, boating and hunting, and being a taxi. I have loved every minute of it but oldest is in college and youngest moved on 2 years ago as the result of a car accident. I am now into the stage where there is extra time left over to put a bit more emphasis on me. Due to a disc problem some activities are limited but I am by no means sedentary, just careful. I like a good book, tv, movies, sports, cards, board games, have recently taken back up tennis, and am giving ballroom dance a whirI. I have taught and coached at the middle school level for 28 years and have loved most of it.

I think something as casual as meeting for a coffee or drink would be good so we can sit and chat a bit. Of course, in good weather, walking on the beach or anyplace outside is always a favorite thing to do. Lunch or dinner is always fun too.
