Having had a fairly rewarding professional life in academia and government research, I try now -- even more than before retirement -- to be a supportive father and grandfather. I remain active physically by, among other things, playing and umpiring in softball games; and intellectually, by taking part in several discussion groups and some church activities. I do miss, however, not only the “scent of a woman, ” but most importantly the deep companionship of a woman.

I am usally upbeat and with a smile on my face. I enjoy meeting people but may be quite until I get to know you. I am a good listener and considered by most people who know me as honest and loyal maybe even to a fault.

I tend to be quiet, or shy, until I know someone. Once that happens, you might have a hard time getting a word in. Not really. I have learned that listening to someone else, is much more entertaining than listening to yourself. I haved been divorced for a couple of years and I have a daughter who is in her fourth year of college. She does come to visit, but usually just for the weekend, as she goes to college in PA.
