Hello, I am new on this site. I am recently retired from 23 years in high school education in Performing Arts. I have been divorced for 12 years and am ready to start a new chapter in my life. I love the outdoors. In the warmer months, I love to garden walk & go to car shows. I also enjoy the water and have enjoyed fishing many of the Minnesota & Wisconsin lakes. I love to dance & go to concerts whenever I get the chance. I also ski, both cross country and downhill along with some snow shoeing.

Just turned 71 & I'm not as stunned as when I turned 70. Maybe it just takes some getting used to - being in this decade of life. I think I'm 71 going on, maybe, 55, since most of my friends are around that age - okay, maybe 60. I pretty much look like my posted pics but with more wrinkles that mercifully don't show up on the photos.
My passion is working with senior rescue dogs, fostering & finding homes for the castaways who find themselves in a tough spot. I volunteer with Minnesota Voters for Animal Protection & my politics are liberal. Interests are eclectic & include long daily walks with my resident dog, Maggie, cooking and eating great food with, or without, friends, good conversation, exploring the arts & reading an engaging book. My continuing work as a psychotherapist is important to me but am willing to relocate - or maybe 6 mos here and 6 mos there.
I have traveled extensively and lived overseas twice - Beirut & Athens. My literary tastes run to mysteries, an occasional political thriller, historical novels & I especially enjoyed "Wild" by Cheryl Strayed - her story of hiking the Pacific Crest Trail.

I like to fish, hike, bike, camp, go to movies and plays, read, try new restaurants and attend sporting events. My best quality is a good sense of humor.

There are many things that I am very passionate about. Love being in the art world. Really enjoy going to art fairs. Not that I buy a lot. I go to get ideas. I am a decorative artist in my spare time. You name it I will paint it. Love to travel. I have been to Russia and South Korea. My last trip this year was to Seattle. Fire Flies
While looking for a mate, a great partner, the meaning of life, an ultimate answer to fulfill every desire and question there may be for me.
Then drawing such a state of attainment to a logical conclusion, it is clear to me that without desires and questions we are empty in a state of stasis or entropy.
When everything we want is satisfied, there is one that cannot “Purpose”.
If there is never any want, there is no reason for fire flies.
When they go, the magic goes with them.
