I'm ten plus years out of a marriage and am looking forward to retiring early in a few years, though meagerly. I have my sights set on touring the country, hiking new trails, backpacking into beautiful spots and exploring historical sights. When I'm done with the U.S., I might think about traveling to Europe or Asia. I'd like to write about these journeys to help others get the most from their travels. Sound interesting?
Many years ago I quit drinking alcohol. I don't mind if you drink socially, but if drinking is a fun sport for you, we won't be a good match. I value tradition, our country's culture and the great things Americans have done. My political views are rather like JFK's: ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country. I'm a non-partisan conservative who is in favor of helping when its needed.
I'm an advocate for protecting the environment, maintaining nature as best we can, and for allowing folks to enjoy the outdoors on foot, bicycle, horseback, motorcycle, ATV, and snow machine, but each within reason. My job is with the State and is a means to pay for what I enjoy doing outside of work. Extra money provides options in life and is nice to have, but it's not really my focus.
