I am originally from New Orleans, and moved to Raleigh due to Hurricane Katrina. I have made a new life for myself in NC. I have a good steady job I like, I like to read ggod books, I like to watch classic movies, listen to great music , especially classic rock and 80's music. I take good care of myself b working out four to five times a week.

What was important at 28 is not nearly the same as at 47. So, though I am youthful hearty and great shape, I also like the continued learning process of life. I love music. Concerts, dinnershows, background jazz/blues, 70's rock. I love books. I enjoy reading mystery/suspense (Harlan Coben is a favorite), historical novels ( just finished Ken Follett's 'World Without End'), and some romance novels. I don't watch much TV, but I do enjoy NCIS. I like putting puzzles together and playing Scrabble. I enjoy long walks in the fall weather (my favorite time of year). I can have fun either staying at home or going out on the town. Always up for lively conversations. I tend to stay up late and sleep in when I can.

I am a normal guy...OKl, but lets be honest. I have been known to color a little outside the lines. Some say I'm a bit on the wild side because I like to have fun, and when you turn 50, I guess people expect you to put away the Tee shirts and sandals and start being a lot more serious..... I do have a Harley that I enjoy riding but that's just a fun thing. It by no means defines who I am. I don't consider myself a "biker". My favorite hobby is scuba diving. I enjoy salt water type things.... fishing, diving, boating on the coast and I love seafood. I do consider myself a stable guy. I have worked for the same company for 29 years. And yes I do see the light at the end of the tunnel. Nobody wants to work the same job forever. I enjoy what I do, but I'm about ready to switch gears and try something different. Who knows maybe start my own business. I haven't figured out what I want to do in the next chapter of my life.

Transferred here for my job, New to NC, I have no family here, so kinda lonely.

I am a retired school teacher I have been single for a very long time and raised my two girls as a single parent since they were 3 and 4 years old.. I taught 8th grade for 34 years in Baltimore County in Maryland. I retired and moved to Raleigh in June of 09 as both my daughters had moved here several years prior. I love NC and I love my retired life. Family is important to me and my five grandkids help me stay young at heart. I tend to be an optimistic person and mostly see the glass as half full. I can get joy from the very simple joys in life. I feel I am an easy person to talk to and also a good listener. I love to go out to eat, go to the movies, see live theatre, travel, and day trips. In Maryland I did some performing in community theatre but have not done that here in NC.. I also do some volunteer work in Raleigh at a domestic violence shelter.

I am a very warm and loving person , if i say so myself, my personality, is that i look to help others if i am able, i had to put my life on hold because my husband was very sick with cancer, i did not mind that because i loved him and he did not want a home health aide, he died this year of lung cancer.Money is not imporant to me as long as my bills get paid and i have a roof over my head and food i am blessed.I do not have a caree i am retired.
