My passions in life is to volunteer . I like to be around friendly people who like good clean fun. I think long walks by the ocean and sitting around the fireplace are pretty much what everyone says about me. If I walk by the ocean it would be once a year and would be in 72 degrees, plus the wind isn't blowing. I do like to dress up. (that's the child in me). I am 5ft.3in. tall and weigh around 110lbs. I have a really good life and have been blessed with health and a wonderful family. Im honest, caring and sincere. I am a romantic and I do really care about your interest and doing little things that make you smile. It would be easier for a friend to describe me. At first you might think I am a little shy but that goes away quickly. I am a hard worker and I've really worked at two places for long periods. O.K. I like day trips, walking trails, seeking water falls, bike riding, camping a couple times a year and a raft trip. Things I like to do? I am a Harley rider and an avid professional photographer that loves the company of a lovely lady on rides to beautiful places. I am retired and live alone. I enjoy sharing common interests and exploring new ones. I have been a airplane owner/pilot since 1972. I Owned/operated a Harley Davidson motorcycle shop for over 45 years. I absolutely love life and I want to be with a man who is enthusiastic about life as well. I crave being active but also can be quite content lolling about on the beach or by the river. I hope that he would feel the joy of being active and that our interests overlapped yet also included polar opposites so we could teach each other new things. I love going to the theater, live or not, but I also enjoy being at home reading, watching tv, playing. As much as I can be conceived as gypsy~like, I also love my home.

I love to travel and can be happy in a 4~Star, a hostel or a hammock on the beach. I want to pack up my Bike Friday and explore far~off lands.

I love my family but I am not afraid to put some distance between us. I mean, if I had a choice of staying in Eugene (which I am quite fond of) or heading to an island in the Caribbean or an Italian countryside, well, I'd have to say I'd be gone in a heart beat !!!

I was married for 3 decades and single for 3 years. It was a good 30 years and a good 3 years as well. Now, I'm trying to imagine what the next 10~20~30 years might be. Frightening thought, eh? I just think it would be more entertaining with a pal to share the ride.

I am down to earth. I tend to be selfles & think of others first. I am sincere, genuine, patient & gentle. But I can be flirtatious. I have been told I am low maintenance & independent. I live an automobile free and gasoline free lifestyle for ethical reasons. I don't work except for volunteer outings and don't need a car. I chose to live in Eugene because it is very bicycle friendly and the bike trails take me to some lovely natural wildlife viewing areas.

Its time to play. I love being outdoors working in the yard, boating, hiking, garage saling, or traveling in my diesel pusher RV. I like to find things to do every day. Have even bought, repaired and sold homes. I went to Sri Lanka to volunteer, and am now the Coordinator for the AARPMMP program. I find, train and place volunteers with older people who are forgeting to pay their bills. I believe in honoring my mate. I still hold the doors open for other people. I love family. Every fourth of July we have a four day campout at my home with up to 30 family and friends present.

I am a 71 year old bachelor who is going through a transition from a highly engaging career in education to retirement. I grew up in New York City, traveled around Europe, and returning to the US, worked in welfare rights organizing in NY City, ended up in Eugene in 1971, where I became part of the Direct Instruction group developing and implementing instructional materials for at risk children. In addition to teaching in Eugene, training teachers around the US and writing college and elementary school text books, I provided housing as part of the Sanctuary movement for eight years, with many of those from El Salvador still friends of mine today. Being in good health, I exercise regularly, enjoy watching sports, going to movies, being with friends, dancing, studying Spanish, and, at this point of retirement, looking for companionship and new ways to continue to be of service, now that I am moving in to retirement and have more free time. Even though I have been single, I have been fortunate to have many friends who have treated me as a member of the family, .
