URBANISTA, 60
My perfect weekend begins with well-brewed black coffee, followed by a 5-7 mile hike in the country, preferably with only moderate hills and lots of water views. Then back to the city, perhaps for homemade soup and bread, some lounging around with the newspapers, completing the NY Times puzzle, maybe a late afternoon in front of the fire? The evening should be for trying a new wine, taking a bottle to a small BYO or an ethnic neighborhood. I like my food to be thoughtfully prepared, and I'm not a fan of places that are more fancy than delicious.
Sundays are spent at the Farmer's Market, looking for culinary inspiration and the perfect cheese and apple combination. After that, a stroll in my historic neighborhood, maybe headed to a museum or art gallery. I'm very intrigued by the contemporary arts scene, even when I don't understand it. Or maybe it would be an afternoon at the movies. I'm always looking for films that surprise me, which often means foreign or independent, but not always. While I like to feel challenged by the arts, I'm also really happy to be entertained!
