I think I have a big heart and a lot of compassion. Also I like to laugh and make others laugh. I try to be honest with and kind to myself and others, especially those I am close to. What am I like? My friends (I hope) would say that I am smart, funny, thoughtful, caring. I have a strong need to be by myself at times but also to be social at other times. I am low maintenance – rise, shower, dress, eat, out the door every morning in 45 minutes or less – so if you are looking for a girly-girl, I’m not her. I don’t spend much money or time on my hair, makeup, manicures, etc. I’d rather be reading a good book or going out for a walk. But I do own a few little black dresses and like a night on the town as much as a night in with a bottle of wine and a good movie.
I’m pretty liberal in my views, and the thing I hate the most are people who aren’t stupid but act stupidly. I am organized and efficient and am always on time. I am actually a planner in my day job.
I read widely and constantly; books (favorite authors include David Mitchell, Ian Rankin, Richard Ford, Kate Atkinson, AS Byatt…..), magazines (The Atlantic, Granta); the New York Times; the back of the cereal box. I am mildly athletic, but not in a mountain climbing/canoe down the Amazon kind of way. More like long walks, some jogging, kayaking in relatively calm water.
