How much is "a little"? Well, I'll start and the space I'm permitted will stop me. I'm a true Southern Belle even with a short amount of time living abroad. I grew up an Army Brat at Ft Bragg, NC. You never really lose the South once it gets your blood. To quote a fine military officer who left me for Heaven at the ripe "young" age of 79, "Sure wish I knew old age was gonna be this tough - I'd have taken better care of myself when I was younger." Truer words were never spoken! Knew the officer's wife too - Now THAT was one fine woman - in anybody's book. She was good as gold inside and out and had more class in the palm of her hand than most of us will ever have!!! But she left me and joined the Colonel in Heaven about a year after I lost him. Their (my parents) absences in my life have left holes in my heart that I'll carry with me forever.

I'm not 100% sure about these dating sites, but with all the hype on how many long term relationships have developed, I thought I would give it a try. A little about me......I'm young in heart and mind but the body has a few dings and dents which I think only make a person more interesting. Just a little about the picture first. Recently on here I was accused of just shopping for someone instead of putting my picture up. Let me assure you that is not the case. I like to have fun, and find fun in simple things like a good dinner, walks, time with friends. I have a passion for children, and have worked with a center for abused/assaulted children and adults. Currently I'm doing project work for a free medical clinic and an organization that helps teen moms.
My children are grown and I have 3 grand kids who are the loves of my life!

I've had cats and dogs and currently am the 'foster mother' of a 15-month-old German Shepherd who is in a service dog training program. I read at least a book a month, the newspaper every day and like being up-to-date on what's happening in the world.

I enjoy cooking but also eating out. A quiet evening with a good friend and some good wine on the porch is about as good as it gets!
