I enjoy a life enriched with a wonderful family and true friends who tell me that I'm warm, funny with a great sense of humor and a positive outlook on life. I have come through the difficult times stronger in my spirituality and my sense of self, and continue to nurture both. A recent New Year’s resolution was to de-clutter my life to better see and appreciate the abundance within it. I’ve been down-sizing ever since, and I’ve never been happier!

My downsizing does not extend to people, however! Family and friends are top priorities, and I'm always willing to drop whatever to get together, chat, or just listen. I'm happy whether it's a game of golf, music at a great Austin venue, dinner at a lovely restaurant or a quiet evening at home. I am a romantic at heart and know that magic can happen when two people connect and “get” each other in a way that can make sharing even the smallest, simplest moment extraordinary.

I'm very active-- exercise almost every day-- but also like to sit quietly and read. When I'm not at the movies or working, I love cooking for friends and having dinner parties. I'm a" newshound", even when things never seem to change, but don't like to argue about politics. Although I'm often on the move, I also like reading the newspaper or a few magazines, watching almost all sports, and listening to music. Biking or working out or walking with a friend are my favorite ways of getting exercise. I love to travel, though lately I do so much of it for work, I'm loving being home, too. This summer has been one of the best ever with time on a bike trip and lots of time with family. Life is really good-- only missing someone to share it with.

I'm a retired Contract Specialist for the government where I wrote, negotiated, and administered $multi-million for the Army Information Systems Command. I'm an easy going, drama free, physically active person. Not a couch potato who likes to sit in front of the TV all day. When I'm not glued to my computer, I enjoy working in the yard. Host monthly Sunday afternoon board games in my home as well as periodic Mardi Gras and Halloween parties. Have two daughters living in Austin also; one is a CPA who moonlights as a promoter of live music venues. Even though funk music isn't my favorite for listening, it is great for dancing, and I love to dance and occasionally attend her early shows. Volunteered as usher at One World Theater and Long Center until I moved to another house in Austin 3 years ago and used up all my energy xeriscaping my yard, digging holes, planting trees and shrubs and hauling blocks. Beats going to the gym. Love humor in all its many forms and surround myself with younger friends who say they want to be like me when they grow up.

My passions include managing my financial/tax clients, staying in touch with the US and global financial markets and news, hanging out with my adult children, walking my dog Phoebe, visiting with new friends I meet everywhere, reading and listening to live music in Austin. I'm very engaged in the world around me, educated (CPA/broker), and a former self-employed business owner still very motivated to enjoy the rest of this life!

I am a crazy dude. I love people, having lively conversation, and coffee. Sports rule (watching them that is), I love a good movie with good friends.

My passion in life is being alive and enjoying each day no matter what is going on! I am a good listener but do not require constant conversation but just enjoy the quiet of our space at the time. I love reading especially with my new Kindle. Books I enjoy are a wide venue from non-fiction to historical romances. One of my favorite things to do is cuddling up with a good book in front of a quiet fire. My current project is trying to organize and scan onto cds seven boxes of family photographs dating back to the 1860's. I have not gotten very far but still working on it. Of course in a few weeks, I will be receiving the rose bushes I ordered on line around 2 am in the morning so that will become a more immediate project for my patio. I generally have a 'black' thumb so hopefully they will grow for me instead of withering a way.

Living life to it's fullest and maintaining a humorous perspective are important to me. I feel and care deeply about people and causes and am continually interested in learning about myself and others. I have a sense of adventure and curiosity and am always exploring. I like to try new things. I can be frightened, but am willing to take risks. I am liberal and very interested in current events. I love diversity.
