I love nature, traveling, hiking, art museums and exploring the soul. I love to write and am currently working on some short story memoirs of my favorite experiences. I love laughing and doing outlandish things to build great memories. My spirituality is important to me but I don't participate in organized religion. I've lived in Austin for 35 years and have enjoyed it immensely. Jungian thought influences me as do many types of shamanism. My work has taken me to clients all across the US with the remote possibility of other destinations as well. I grew up in WV and love the change of seasons. Moved to SC just before graduation from college. So spent my adult years near the beach and then later in the hill country of the state. I am retried from 30+ years of state government. A social worker dealing with Children’s Protective Services. A rewarding job at times, but also depressing. I love to cook and the food network channel is usually on the majority of time. Unless a crime show is on and then that will get my attention. Love reading and the library and I are great friend. I believe the next gift to me will be a Nook. You need to treat yourself with a gift every once in awhile. I give 100 percent of myself in relationships.

It seems that anyone who grew up near the ocean often craves a chance to visit a body of water and I am one of those people. It is odd that I now live several hours from any ocean but I go visit when I can. I like to read, watch movies and I enjoy attending shows at any theatre around town. I love to travel and in July I had a chance to visit South America. It was a fabulous trip. I wish I was fluent in Spanish but still I managed to make myself understood.
I am not an outdoorsy type. I will put on my sneekers to walk my dog and that is my main form of exercise. I am pretty organized and tend to plan get togethers, however I like it when someone elso steps up to the plate too. I can carry a conversation but I can also be quiet. I will even let you watch the game in peace and will find something else to do. I will go to a hockey game as that is part of the life of a woman from the Great White North.

I’ve always wanted permanence. It’s taken me a long time to finally accept that there really isn’t any permanence in this life. I just know it’s not a promise or a plan. I’ve had that and it didn’t work.

I have a strong creative side and enjoy my various projects from creating sculpture, painting, graphics, and remodeling my house, to collecting antiquities and antiques, which I mainly import from Europe.
