Downsizing and leaving baggage behind is new to me. I must say it was great to have that big generator going while watching the stream rise.

I am retired now after working for the State of VT for 23+ years.i was a career counselor and welfare case manager. the last job was burn out city and i had to take early retirement. in other lifetimes i've been a college instructor, a mental health worker, cut firewood, worked construction.

besides my family, my strongest interests are music, reading, movies, plays, museums, eating out, travel with a small 't' & sight-seeing. i am at this phase of my life i am shy and introverted and thus find it difficult to go to functions by myself. so i am hoping for a friend with whom to share these activities. I have been, for 12+ years very inside oriented, and have indulged this with an outrageous music CD collection, and a good library of actual books. A living anachronism in our digital age. I have finally bought a cell phone and an Ipod, but I do not see any Kindles in my life.

i have lived by myself a lot, except for when married. i would like eventually a committed relationship, but not necessarily living together. after all, i've a houseful of stuff, and need alone time to recharge my batteries. since divorce i've had a 5yr relationship on that basis, until our interests drifted apart. never say never, though, right?
