I am the Executive Director of a nonprofit organization working with at-risk youth in conjunction with law enforcement. I work very hard, but I love my job and feel very fulfilled by it.

A word about my photo. That picture is my favorite photo of myself, taken when I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in West Africa (Mali, 1987 - 1990), so yes, it is more than 20 years old. I did not post that photo trying to be dishonest. I posted this particular photo because, a) it is the one of myself I like the best - I feel it represents who I am as a person in a very honest way, and b) it is the only photo of myself I actually have on the computer. I admit, I do not like having my photo taken, because I believe most photos do not end up a representation of who I am - personality-wise, not in the looks department. I am not one for the spotlight, would much rather be the one directing things behind the scenes and letting other claim the limelight.

I have a sense of humor, love to read and decorate, and my favorite place is the beach. I like going to the casinos and hanging with friends. People say I am a good cook, a great friend, and that I am full of love. I don't have a pic to post but I have been told I am easy on eyes.

I am an honest person, full of life and people tell me that I have a big heart. Born in Switzerland and educated in England, by the time I was 30 I found myself halfway around the globe.I've traveled to the far east and lived in a Kibbutz, which was exciting and very fulfilling. I ended up studying Bio Dynamic agriculture and rural development and lived in England for 8 yrs. and I then moved to Maui to practice. I guess I’ve Americanized, since I’ve owned 3 cars and 3 homes since, though I’ve changed my profession into health care. I feel very much at home here in Portland. The rain doesn’t bother me. It reminds me quite a bit of Hawaii with its tropical downpours and mighty trees; just a minor temperature difference. I like the European influence with the various neighborhoods. Especially the NE and NW has a special attraction to me with the street cafes and international restaurants. I volunteer at Unity to satisfy my spiritual interest. I felt the need to stay fresh with my surrogate parenting skills due to a side job that involves kids. My little cockatiel bird seems to be the alpha in my household; as long as she is getting the love and affection, she is the best pet I’ve ever had.

I am outgoing, affectionate, nurturing, active, healthy, and well traveled. I am interested in golf, outdoor activites, and travel. I am active in my church and various community volunteer groups. I love music and sing in a chorale. I also love entertaining, walking, all types of water activities, boating, and dancing. I love to laugh and just plain have fun. I am well educated and financially secure so I'm not looking for someone to support me or pay the bills. I am a conservative and have traditional values.

I'm very outgoing, open minded, passionate, and always enjoy a good laugh. I like to golf, swim, dance, entertain, and at times stay home with my man. I stay fit and healthy and am looking for the same things in my partner, love connection.

I hope to find that special someone who has the same morals and values that I do. I have a job and a home. My family and I are very close. I have 2 grown daughters and 1 grandson that mean the world to me. I have been told I am open minded yet fall back on some old fashioned values. I am more artsy than athletic. I am a social drinker that does not smoke. I am open to new interests.

I like to discover new places, stay active and I love to snow ski, water ski, hike, people watch and travel. I also like to learn new things such as golfing and traveling to places I've not been. I can be silly at times, and I am known to be independant. That is not to say I don't need some help from time to time, because I can always learn from others. I am comfortable in my own skin and know what I want. I love my life now and I am always busy, but I would love to enjoy my life with someone of like interests. I have a 13 year old son and when most people my age are looking to retire and enjoy life with children already on their own, I have a little way left to go. Maybe we could go find a great place to have a nice steak, listen to some cool jazz, or relax outside in the back yard (weather permitting) with a nice smooth glass of red wine.

I have strong Christian values.Love beach, mountains, walking on the beach holding hands with a special person. Sitting by a lovely fire, music, beautiful music, candles and my special person. I am very honest , loyal and romantic . Family and God are very important in my relationships. I love simple day trips as well would like other ones and picnics as well and much more.

I came from a large family. I understand compromise, and I know how to share. Joking aside, family and friends are jewels to be treasured. I’m sensual and passionate, but not promiscuous. I’m intuitive, caring and compassionate. Achievement in the face of adversity, words from the heart, and sad movies make me cry. I’m tolerant and rarely lose my temper. OK - the downside is that when I do, you really should sell tickets. (I do have a sense of humor.)

I’m not a “party animal” where drinking seems to be the main objective, but I do love to laugh and play. I enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities, table games, spirited conversation, movies, Christmas baking, making music, and dance… how I love to dance. I cannot imagine life without music and enjoy Bach to Metallica. (Rap is not music)

Being physically active and staying in good physical condition is vital to my happiness. I have a wide range of interests and enjoy travel and new adventures. I love animals, although I don’t currently own a pet due to my lifestyle.

Although I’m not a religious person in the conventional sense, spirituality is an important part of my life. In addition to traditional meditation, I practice Tai chi as a form of meditation in motion.

I'm a transplanted Southern Eastcoast LADY!! I don't hunt, fish or camp, altho I don't mind long walks(on beach/ in woods).I love my Redskins! Daddy was a Navy man as were my 2 sons so I kinda understand the military mind frame but I don't like being bossed; pretty independent that way. A LADY never fights BUT she doesn't get pushed in a corner either.
