I have done things a bit unconventional in my life in that I have a little girl that will soon be 6 that I have joint shared custody. She is absolutely the most precious thing in my life. She has taught me the true meaning of unconditional love and has made me realize what the most important things in life are. I subscribe to the theory that if you treat people the way you wish to be treated, things will generally work out quite well. What interests me is who a person is and not what a person is.

I am sincere and honest. You will also find that I don't look or act my age. (Since most guys say that, I'll let you be the judge). I am very active and play competitive sports and work out regularly. I've been blessed with being able to fly airplanes, bungee jump, downhill ski, and survive 9 years of polar bear jumps in Lake Michigan on Jan.1st. I still have a goal to run with the bulls in Pamplona one of these years. I am unable to drink alcohol, not because I'm recovering from anything but because alcohol is toxic to my system and was told that if I wish to stay among the living it would be wise to stay away from it. I enyoy the social aspect of bars and restaurants as much as the next person.

I recently retired from the field of education with significant experience working with children and families who have been impacted and touched by someone on the autism spectrum. It is an area of passion! I enjoy volunteering and working within the community . I am working part-time as an Autism Specialist and will continue working only as long as I want to.

I’m a morning person but I do enjoy sunsets especially with someone close to me. When meeting people I tend to be quiet at first and listen respectfully to what others have to say. I look for the best in people and believe that we are here on this planet for a reason. I’m a hard-working, honest, flexible, and dedicated individual who holds an idealistic disposition.

My friends and colleagues would describe me as intelligent, truthful, creative, and passionate for causes coupled with strong moral values. They also noted that I have a dry sense of humor.

Some of my hobbies which keep me busy and in shape are cycling, roller blading (yes, at my age), hiking, rock climbing, camping especially out west in or near the mountains and walking my dog.

Lastly, I’m not into the local bar scene, take drugs or have tattoos. I do like to dine-out and sometimes dance although I’m not Fred Astaire or Gene Kelly, but I’m working on that. Since the divorce and retirement I am looking forward to the new challenges and avenues that life has to offer.
