A little about me...
I know when to be a lady--and when to be a dame. Comfortable in jeans and hiking boots or lace and silk. I still have a sense of wonder, especially about science and nature. I love to cook, garden, prowl flea markets and antique shops, and watch a good baseball game. (Then again, even a bad baseball game is a good baseball game, in my book.) I'd rather go camping than stay in a luxury resort--but then, I prefer wilderness to "tourist-y" destinations any day. I'm an avid reader, especially of literary fiction and magic realism. I love to dance, especially to music of the 80s and classic rock. I'm a film buff, with a particular fondness for science fiction, fantasy, thrillers, and old-fashioned ghost stories. Good news, guys: I loathe chick flicks. I'm very much a homebody. I'm also a bit of an introvert, so I absolutely must have time to myself--but that's a good thing because it means you get time to yourself, as well.

About the one I'm looking for...
John Wayne...Gary Cooper...Clint Eastwood...I grew up watching Westerns with my dad, and I have never lost my fondness for strong, capable, masculine men. Real men. Strong, capable, responsible, courageous, courteous, honest. Men who cherish and respect women. Who can, and do, laugh often--even at themselves. I tend not to trust anyone who doesn't have at least one animal companion, so you'll probably have at least one dog and/or cat. Oh...I like men with meat on their bones, and I find men who are obsessed with their bodies (e.g., workout fanatics) tedious in the extreme. I love facial hair--especially nicely trimmed beards. Baldness doesn't faze me in the least.

I'd just like to add...
I'm hoping to find a friend who may or may not turn into more. I am not in a hurry, nor am I seeking immediate commitment or physical intimacy. Anything worth having takes time.
