A little about me...
Ok. Briefly to start. I'm soon to "retire" looking forward to some travel in May and very curious about what comes next. I'm a city planner. Decently educated, read and traveled.

I've lived in Marin most of my life after school at Berkeley. I swim to stay fit. And do some hiking and row a small boat on the Bay. I have family close-by, including ancient mother and 2 lovely step daughters. Sister in Tulare County, son farther south.

In May, I have a few weeks to travel. I'll arrive in Paris and return from Athens without too much planned in the middle except for a week of swimming with a bunch of Brits in Montenegro. It's not really so exotic, more like summer camp for distance swimmers. This kind of travel I enjoy very much, though I would prefer to travel with a partner, solo is ok too. It's different.

I have lived a very lucky life, though my family has taken some hits recently. And now big changes in store for me in the next year. It will be the best ever. We always say that. Always believe it. Believe it.

About the one I'm looking for...
Friendship & trust at that basic level. Plus humor and that indefinable thing that is the reason-without-thought you would hold that person's hand. At a most basic level, I genuinely enjoy the company of an intelligent woman. I would like to meet someone who moves through the world a little bit like I do. Someone with whom to share experience, where we would both be able to say 'you made a difference in my life.' We don't have alot of time for less than that.

The arts matter. Honesty matters. And words matter, whether it's banter, opinion or from the heart.
