A little about me...
I have a huge heart with the capacity to love deeply. I grew up with affectionate parents and hug those I care for easily and often. I am very generous and concerned about the welfare of others, but am often too hard on myself. I am an open book and unwilling to waste time with anyone wanting to be deceitful or misleading. I live alone in my own home in a pleasant development above Bloomsburg. I am completely devoted to caring for my dear, sweet 90 year-old Mom who resides in a nearby assisted living facility. I visit her every day. I love to be outside in the fresh air and spend countless hours gardening around my home. I grew up in upstate NY and miss the Finger Lakes terribly. I have wonderful memories of swimming, canoeing, and motor-boating and would love to resume those activities (or new ones) with a new friend. My car radio is permanently tuned to a local radio station playing popular, rock songs and, when driving alone, I sing along with gusto.

About the one I'm looking for...
I'm looking for an intelligent, honest, caring, kind-hearted, successful man. I was privileged to witness my parents' 56-year marriage. They loved and respected one another deeply and, ultimately, my mother cared for my ailing father until the day he died. I was raised to believe that I would meet and fall in love with a special man and care for him and cherish him until we were parted by death. Unfortunately, fate dealt me a surprising blow and I haven't been lucky enough to find that special man. I haven't given up, however, and will try this new way of meeting potential friends. I am looking for a man that recognizes a woman's equality, but who still chooses to open a door for a lady. I prefer a gentlemen who is comfortable sharing his daily experiences and feelings with me as I am very open and forthcoming with my experiences and feelings. I've always been a very clean-cut, straight-arrow sort of person and smoking and illegal drug use is anathema to me. I could never accept those behaviors in anyone else either. Finally, I'm hoping to meet someone who is successful in his own right and self-confident, whatever his occupation.

I'd just like to add...
More than thirty years ago, I survived a near-fatal auto accident which left me with a small physical disability. I walk a bit less gracefully than the average fifty-year-old woman and often use a cane for added stability. I refused to let that accident define me and I went on to earn my master's degree in secondary guidance counseling after that accident. I've been forced to make changes in my life because of that accident, but it has never, and will never, stop me. That unfortunate event made me a stronger, more caring, empathetic person. I remain extremely young-at-heart and vital, interested in life and all it has to offer, and anxious to share it with a new friend.
