I am happy, healthy and active. I do enjoy the intellectual pursuits, but I find, perhaps in a "carpe diem" approach, that I become euphoric with the more physical activities: in my kayak, on ski days, hiking and such. How nice it would be to be able to share these pleasures and that goes for quiet times as well. I like to seek out the cultural events and it would be wonderful to have someone to share these experiences with and to eliminate that awkward time alone at intermission. The same goes for a foreign movie. Yes, I know, two to Tango, but it is also a requirement for a lovely restaurant meal. Going beyond that, ideally to the point of a nice afternoon in Montreal. Time to chat on the way up, a French lunch with a bottle of wine, a walk around the old city to walk off the wine and time to chat on the way home.
Having held your attention thus far, perhaps I should warn you that my personality borders on the silly. I have always been a happy person looking at life with a sense of humor.
I love languages and the well-written word. Help with the NYT Sunday puzzle would be a joy.
So, in summary, thus far I have been able to keep busy and happy. Please join me!

I'd just like to add...
Well, let's let all the truth come out. I live on a mountain and so have all the maintenance required to deal with the elements. Therefore I am quite comfortable being covered in mud - gardening and keeping drainage ditches in good order,. I am quite proud of the stone terrace I just made from rocks I dragged up a cliff.
Trying not to be one-dimensional, I can "clean up" as well and recently wore a gown to an opera fundraiser gala. On the serious side, I am Ivy educated, as is my family.
It amuses me that everyone writes of "romantic candlelight dinners." With life on a mountaintop, they are more likely the result of a power outage. As to "romantic walks on the beach," I am happy carrying my boogie board for surfing the waves and I make the best sand sculptures! There are more creative ways to be romantic.
Saving the most salient point for last. I am blessed with a superb and caring family. They make my life complete and coax me into the activities listed above.. It is only at times like this, when they are all otherwise occupied, that I have time to ramble on.
