I strongly believe in what I call the 4 cornerstones of a relationship, Honesty, Trust, Respect, and Communication. It all starts there. I also favor compromise as an intergral part of a relationship, and dont go to bed angry. Unresolved issues tend to fester and turn into two headed monsters, when a conversation might have taken care of everything the night before.
I am a parent of one grown boy who lives in Chicago, and I am very close with my son.
I have a very good sense of humor, and feel that you must be able to laugh at yourself before you can laugh at another. That said, my humor has a broad range from tongue in cheek to just short of slapstick. The only requirement is that it makes me laugh and does not hurt anyone. It is very important to laugh.
I am also a "glass half full" kinda guy. I let others take care of the "empty" part. Being unhappy is a waste of time and energy.
