Greeting

A little about me...
I'm not an easy guy to pigeonhole. I like sweatshirts, jeans and Armani suits. I'm an accomplished cook, yet like New York City street vendor hot-dogs. I like Reggae, the Blues, Opera and Koto music. I think it's too hot if the temperature exceeds 75, but lived in Dixie for many years. I rarely watch sports on TV; however, I do watch F1 racing and the America's Cup. I'm very at ease in front of a large crowd, but at small parties I am apt to be off by myself observing and hoping it will soon be over. My students say I'm funny, sarcastic and the "chillest" teacher they know. My closest friends describe me as funny and "An intellectual you can talk to." I like that. I think it really fits. I took a MyersBriggs test a while back. I'm an INTJ. Apparently INTJs constitute only 2 to 3 percent of the population. So, I guess it would be fair to say I'm rare, if not endangered. I am not that comfortable talking about myself. Ask anything you'd like. I believe in truth in advertising and will answer your questions honestly.

About the one I'm looking for...
smart; funny with a dry, off beat sense of humor; be curious about most things; appreciate fine food; enjoy the arts and have a sense of creativity; likes dogs that are bigger than Maine Coon Cats and considers them to be members of the family with all the associated rights and privileges; inspire what the nuns called "impure thoughts"; be understanding of a need for solitude; reads for pleasure; tolerates my love of science fiction movies, especially old, cheesy ones

I'd just like to add...
Some of my favorite things - Dogs; Fog; Old Peaty Scotch from Islay; Wood stoves and fireplaces; Shiraz; Coffee with Chicory; Steamed Lobster; Rare Porterhouse; Well broken in flannel shirts; Mozart; James Brown; Verdi; Stevie Ray Vaughn; Patsy Cline; Etta James; Fast responsive cars; Dark Chocolate; Music of all types; Oddities; The rocky coast of Maine; Outer Banks of NC; Any city with an interesting food scene; Coffee shops with wi-fi; Bodies of water where Luna may swim; I would like to visit Iceland, Scotland, China, Japan, Singapore, Alaska, Sweden; Norway; Denmark and Brazil; I read for pleasure; play with my dog; drive fast on winding roads; cook; write; watch and collect old science fiction movies; experience odd places and events; visit art galleries and museums; try different cuisines; and, observe life as it happens. My first Flat Coated Retriever was ETHEL9871. She would run AT G ee!, then get the MAIL. Maybe I'll hear from you.
