A little about me...
I am the type of person who encountering friends at the grocery, gym, park, church, embraces them with a smile, a hug, or a wave just to grab moments to reconnect and let them know how good it is to see them. I love inviting friends and family into my home and having my home ring out with laughter, good-natured-teasing, and sharing favorite stories. What gets my juices flowing is sharing ideas/ experiences with people I am in community with about something we’ve read, seen in a movie/ tv or experienced first hand that challenges our thinking, broadens our understanding, reaffirms some truth. To me, words matter: how and why we use them; so we should use them to lift up a spirit to rise to the occasion or empower those to succeed in their race. Too much talk these days tears things down. At the same time I love to talk about all kinds of life experiences, movies, etc. that have enriched our lives and have brought us to this present moment. I love working with people who share my passions and dreaming of possibilities of what can be done, those “What if…” conversations.

About the one I'm looking for...
Every relationship is an opportunity for both people to grow. Affection and love can flourish if trust is there. Friendship and laughter are essential to give life its richness. How much fun it is to be with friends and colleagues who share the same passions and concerns for others that I do. I have learned that relationships based on trust and common respect for each other's strengths are the ones that last. Being genuine is important. Physical attraction and chemistry create a spark that can grounded in common values. Beginning and developing relationships is worth the risk of disappointment because it is the only way we can connect.

I'd just like to add...
I have become a devotee of both zydeco/cajun dancing and zumba aerobics. I try to dance at least one night a week. Other Favorite things to do include live theater in NOLA, Atlanta, or New York, jazz clubs like Snug Harbor or Rock ‘N Bowl or watching sports events on tv in New Orleans. I want to go back to Maui, Europe to hike camp; enjoy gorgeous views. I am the kind of friend that never lets your birthday go by without a celebration, or if we have journeyed through something together gives a small commemorative gift to honor the occasion. I love to watch growth whether it be plants in my garden, students in my classes, colleagues whom I mentor, Christian friends in my Sunday School class, or with friends far and near. The small part I play is not nearly as significant as seeing them stretch toward the light.
