I enjoy really enjoy my current career teaching at a community college. Most consider me to be on the shy/introverted side. Proud of my career. I enjoy taking care of my dogs. I have two, both mutts to be honest but I enjoy their company. Not into large groups or parties, prefer small gatherings. Definitely prefer casual to formal - my friends and coworkers would probably not recognize me with a tie rather than my usual T-shirts with various messages/statements on them. I'm not big on most club/bar scenes - prefer someone where conversation can be heard without having to yell at one another. I love wandering around museums whether history, natural science, or technology. I can wander the halls of the Smithsonian for days. I grew up around farm animals and feel comfortable there but now would prefer to stay around the amenities of the city.
About the one I'm looking for...
Looking for someone to enjoy time with and get to know, possibly leading to long term relationship. Not looking for marriage or a one night stand either for that matter. Someone who enjoys animals - either a dog or cat lover works for me. Someone who enjoys having small groups of friends over or going out.
I'd just like to add...
I enjoy a variety of cuisine. Favor 50s/60s rock or folk/rock as well as big band music and boogie-woogie even if I'm not much of a dancer. I'm a bit of a political junkie in that I like to watch the political talk shows on Sunday mornings and spend the rest of the morning relaxing over the morning paper. I have a weakness for 30's and 40's movies -Bogart/Cagney/Robinson. Also for Charlie Chan, Tarzan, and old comedies like the Marx Brothers. Guilty movie pleasure - 50s sci-fi with giant ants, tarantulas, etc. Really guilty movie pleasure is Godzilla (Japanese with a rubber suit, not the one in New York). Of course I need popcorn for the full effect of the movie. I enjoy reading - especially history, science, and science fiction. I enjoy re-reading many of what I consider older classics like Gulliver's Travels and Three Musketeers, and especially anything by Twain or Poe. Another guilty pleasure would be any of the books by Edgar Rice Burroughs. I enjoy the State Fair each year but I'm not really into the rides on the midway. Probably should admit that I'm a big fan of Jeopardy and the Trivial Pursuit games.
