A little about me...
First- flakeysracer means I also live in the Florida Keys and I use to race cars, not that I am flakey. I retired from 34 years federal Law Enforcement and visitor services. I have a townhouse in Newport, VT and am looking for new friends to socialize with. I spend one month with my wife, the other four - summer, fall & winter, alone for the most part. I am not legally separated, just physically separated. She has her life and I have mine. I am friendly, outgoing, have a sense of humor, am a good conversationist on many topics, physically exercise three days a week, including jogging four miles. I am average build with a pleasant face. I am an outdoor person - hiking, fishing (spin and fly), firearm target & combat shooting, boating/canoeing, swimming, reading, playing backgammon, chess, playing cards and plan to take up downhill skiing again. Am also a car person, drive in autocrosses and used to race sports cars with EMRA & SCCA in New England and Florida. I still crew and work flagging and communications. I like to travel VT and New England in my convertible sports car. I also like to dine out, evening strolls, slow dancing, and cuddling up on the couch by candlelight with soft jazz and a glass of wine, or just watch a movie.

About the one I'm looking for...
I am seeking a female friend(s) with similar interests as mine or is interested in participating, or interests that I currently don't participate in that may be of interest to me. This can be the same or more than one person: I am interested in someone who is comfortable outside and likes to explore the outdoors. I would be amenable to meeting someone who likes to dine out and attend the local theater/concert. I enjoy good cooking, however am not a good cook. I am would like to explore this area with someone who also enjoys good cooking, even if you don't consider yourself a good cook. Lets explore together!. If you have an interest in cars, sports car racing (or NASCAR on road courses!), this is a plus, however, not necessary. i enjoy exploring sight seeing, exploring quaint towns or visiting musems and nature centers. Lets meet for lunch and or a days social outing and go from there. I am willing to travel as I enjoy driving New England's country roads in my Mini Cooper convertible with the top down.

I'd just like to add...
My parents were native Vermonters and I have spent almost all of my vacations up here, camping and traveling the state. i now can enjoy the area five or more months a year.

I am open to exploring new areas of interest. There is little I would rule out that I would not try, well maybe not aligator wrestling or handling rattle snakes. Yes, been there and done that too as part of my job.

I try to eat healthy and exercise a lot. However, i do like good cooking and enjoy dining out occassionally.

I am seeking a travel companion for such "exotic and far away places" as the vintage car races at Watkins Glen in September.

Also, I have a RV and a Florida Flats fishing boat designed for fly fishing, that I bring to Vermont for the summer. If you are an avid fly fishing angler for lakes or rivers, perhaps a friendly fall day's outing on the Missisquoi would be of interest to you.
