A little about me...
Hope to retire soon and spend time in my woodworking shop
I believe you should take life seriously but have fun living it.
I am affectionate, a good conservationist and listener (no, really!), widely traveled, well read, up on current affairs, and although I don't have a lot of formal education, very bright and articulate.
I enjoy the poetry of Robert W. Service (I can recite several hours from memory), reading, and collecting antique toy trains from the 20's and 30"s.
I enjoy travel and adventure vacations, such as whitewater rafting, paragliding, zip lining and rock climbing. I also like to ride tourist trains, especially those powered by steam locomotives.
I firmly believe doing that kind of thing keeps you young. Keep crossing things off of that bucket list!
Live music, theater, and movies fill the rest of my time!
I've been told I have a great sense of humor and am fun to be around, but I do like to succeed at anything I try, so I guess that means I'm competitive.
I'm non religious, politically and socially conservative, and a free thinker.
If you are religious or "spiritual" and/or a political liberal we're not a match.
I drink very seldom but am still addicted to tobacco.
About the one I'm looking for...
I'm looking for a warm, affectionate, thoughtful, smart, inquisitive, optimistic, youthful acting person who thinks the best is yet to come.
Views on religion, culture, and politics congruent with mine are very important in a serious relationship, not so much for casual dating.
Shared values are more important that shared activities. They are the cement that holds a relationship together.
An independent and confident woman who doesn't need a man to lean on but one to stand beside.
I'm not interested in a clinging vine but desire a person with a life of her own, her own interest and life path. Not for a separate life but to blend and meld the two lives.
Obviously at our age there is some amount of being "set in ones ways" but common views on fundamental issues make agreement on small things more likely.
I'd just like to add...
I'm looking for someone to spend time with, sharing the good times and helping each other through the bad times too.
By the way, I really do enjoy cooking, but hate cleaning up after!
