A little about me...
I'm currently planning my next trip to England (one of my favorite places). My interests include English history and literature and I also teach part-time. I have also studied Buddhism and lived in an ashram (a while ago!). On my travels you might find me in an historic church (not necessarily on Sunday), an art gallery (the Tate or the Louvre?), or exploring an antiquated bookstore or museum or, if outdoors, on the water or in the mountains. I enjoy travel (I've seen most of the US, Hawaii, Europe), sailing, tennis, outdoor festivals, concerts, dinner or a glass of wine with a friend, listening to music, (especially jazz, but also classical, folk, blues). Reading (spy thrillers, mysteries, historical fiction) and surfing the web, keeping up with current events.
About the one I'm looking for...
My ideal partner is kind, affectionate, tolerant, well-educated, and enjoys stimulating conversation and intellectual pursuits, as well as staying reasonably fit (but is not obsessive about it). He loves music and the arts as much as the outdoors. He has a sense of humor, a curiosity about the world, enjoys learning new things, traveling, reading, and keeping up with current events. If he likes cooking and lively conversation, dining out, the occasional travel adventure, that's a plus. Not expecting perfection, but a companion, a travel partner, a friend, a confidante.
I'd just like to add...
Always learning, exploring, and being open to change are important to me . I consider myself a liberal politically, but not far left. My ideal partner is not necessarily someone who holds similar values, but at least compatible ones!

My Top Interests:
I have been involved in some aspect of "the arts most of my life, either participating or observing . I love listening to music, going to a gallery, seeing a play or movie (or just watching a DVD at home). I once got to watch the production "Hair" on the London stage from the lighting box high above the stage (a thrill when you are in your 20s and into theater).
I love learning for its own sake and read a lot (newspapers or news websites online, wikipedia, books) and also watching news programs, PBS, documentaries, old movies. I enjoy taking classes in a subject that interests me (web design, European LIt., playwriting). Learning keeps the mind sharp.
Nature and Outdoors
Enjoy travel and being outdoors, whether in the mountains or on the water.
