A little about me...
Some people have said that I'm driven, a workaholic. There just weren't enough hours in the day for me to do what I need to do and want to do. Now, I am slowing down - working three days a week until I retire from my current work at the end of the year. That now gives me time to start planning what I plan to do with the rest of my life. Because I care about those less fortunate, I am a very active Rotarian. Intrinsics are more important to me than money, although that is sometimes to my detriment. I am an active alumna of my undergraduate college, and also active in communtiy projects.
About the one I'm looking for...
You can talk about values, but I believe that a person shows his/her character more through actions than words. What do you do in your career? In your free time? Do you have a cause? I would like to meet men engaged in business or a profession, as well as community service. A good friend would be great. If a deeper relationship develops,so much the better. He should have intelligence, integrity, honor, humor, and even a bit of whimsey. He should laugh eaisily and make me laugh, too. He should understand my craziness and provide a calming influence - or perhaps, be partner in a compulsion to achieve more, always more. He should also understand that each of us has interests that don't interest the other so that going separate ways on occasion is not a problem for either of us.
I'd just like to add...
A fan of classic movies, I watch a lot of TCM, especially B&W. An avid mystery reader, I delight in finding the culprit before the sleuth. I don't go to restaurants, concerts, and shows as often as I'd like, because I would like to go to these events with a close friend who also enjoins them.
My daughter is married and my son is separated and llives with me getting his life back on track. I also believe in giving them the space they need. I have a handsome airedale named Seamus, who is just the sweetest boy, although his size and exuberrance overwhelm many of my friends. My former daughter-in-law adopted a Labradoodle puppy and my son was given custody of him. Seamus is getting old and the puppy is making him much older.
My weight has always been a problem for me. I believe that it actually is somewhere between "a few extra pounds" and "big and beautiful." The selections to answer questions really seem too broad.

My Top Interests:
Family and Friends
I believe that a parent always needs to be there for his/her children when they need love and support, no matter what the age. I believe in maintaining a loving relationship with my children and extended family.
Movies, theater, museums, architecture, music - they are all part of the arts and I appreciate them all.. I love classic movies and would love to have someone venture to the Brattle Theater to see some of them on the big screen.
Yes, I'm a believer in education and I earned my MBA decades ago, but I also believe in life-long learning. Pleasure reading is my thing - and again, this seemed the closest header. Mystery is my primary genre. I've read hundreds and like to collect first editions of best sellers - preferably signed by the author. Also, Crytoquotes and crosswords help to keep me sharp.
