A little about me...
* * * TAKING A SABBATICAL FROM THIS SITE FOR AT LEAST A WHILE. * * *
I'm a would-be musician (guitar, bass), a serious reader, and a computer engineer who specializes in working with people instead of machines. I volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House, am employed in healthcare (and have been forever), and have inherited two cats (trying to make the transition from being a dog person). My only child is a productive human being, self-sufficient, living far away with his new bride and he makes me very proud. I like to laugh, sincerely, often, and help others do the same.
About the one I'm looking for...
I seek a compassionate, empathetic person, unfazed by material things, who lives her life with grace and wants to leave a positive mark on the world. Lots of smiles and a (cynical?) sense of humor important. Listening to music, NOT watching TV, dining out (in case home cooking fails me), and, yes, if you listen to football and baseball with me, I'll go shopping with you.
I'd just like to add...
I have learned through my failures that communication is the single most important part of any relationship, and that intimacy is a very close second; that a couple should share interests but have separate ones; and that having things to talk about, like shared historical perspective, is absolutely required (as in, what would I say to a 25-year old?).
I think in the interest of full disclosure that I should mention my "blond" hair is more gray than blond these days, and it reaches past my shoulders, which is really hard to see in the pictures. At least the pictures (not the one with the antlers) are recent. ;)
