Greeting

A little about me...
I am not desperate for a relationship. I have a pretty good life as it is. And, I truly enjoy my alone time. However, I wouldn't mind someone to hang out with...maybe more. I am personally mellow but driven at work and in intellectual pursuits. I really enjoy travel - internationally usually, and am lucky to have friends and family worldwide to visit. I am equally at home camping as a fancy hotel - it creates a balance. I am a Saints fan (and would enjoy spending Sundays watching the game ). Suburbia is the last place I figured I'd be at this point in my life (I plan to move back to Bay St. Louis soon when I downsize - It's bit more funky and magical and by the water. And being a child of the sixties (Yes, I admit my only claim to fame: attending/seeing Woodstock; Joplin; Doors; Hendrix, and in 1964 the Beatles at Shea stadium. I am interested in world affairs and politics, finding myself often left of center on issues. People consider me spiritual( whatever that means) but not religious. If I was being described in a high school yearbook, it might say: artsy, intellectual, literate, passionate, trivia queen, (techie type - sort of), best friend with a big heart with an inability to carry a tune (but I can dance up a storm!).

About the one I'm looking for...
I am looking for..
A man who takes the time to write something thoughtful in this section of his profile
A man to hang out with and more (should that be in the cards.)

I am not opposed to a distance relationship. E-mail, phone calls, web conferencing, aircraft make this possible for a while...in fact, sometimes long distance relationships lead to stronger relationships - it's the openness found in writing one another, I'd speculate.

A person who is generally flexible but firmly stands on principles. I don't have to agree, but need you to explain why you think what you do (I'll do the same).

And I'd like you to be:
kind
funny and someone I can laugh with...often!
honest
trustworthy
faithful
a true heart friend
non-smoking
a social drinker (honesty here, please. I've.been stung once - alcoholism is tough to deal with)
a college grad (or self taught, well educated)
sophisticated, witty but silly
not stuffy
well traveled or wishing to become so
sweet
not possessive
not threatened by successful, smart women
enjoy gender roles but NOT with unquestioning adherence

Your looks? Well, that is negotiable if the attributes above are there. But we need a 'spark' to have a match that strong and lasting.

I'd just like to add...
Let's see- what do *I* want to ADD"??

Well, I'd like to add
...a couple of million bucks to my portfolio but that's a long shot.
...a round the world trip (another long shot) to celebrate my 60th. NOTE: Oops that didn't happen - but I almost did cross the Atlantic by ship (another bucket list entry) I got waylayed by an emergency appendectomy in the Azores.
...an art house movie and then a late night dinner in a funky hole in the wall dive in NOLA, a romantic overnight in a fancy hotel and the the next day hit the LPO for a performance of Carmina Burana. And all of this to be proceeded by a dress-up brunch at Commander's.
...a PADI certification to the initials behind my name
...Spanish Language fluency to my limited non-English repertoire.
...more laughter to my life and others too...maybe yours?
