A little about me...
One of the suggested topics for this question is “What makes you a great partner?” Yikes! How do you answer that? Well, what people have reflected to me are the following qualities: patience, non-judgmentalness, curiosity, optimism and enthusiasm, communication, creativity, fairness, intelligence (even wisdom, LOL). I am good at sharing and really enjoy doing caring things for people that matter to me. I must seem a contradiction at times; I am fiscally conservative, yet adventuresome in other ways, like taking a day-long aboriginal walkabout in Australia. I am a Pisces; true to the sign, I am a water baby (love to swim). I play several folk instruments and dance (I like partner dancing in general, but also am taking line-dancing lessons). If I could live in any other foreign country in the world, it would be Greece; I love the land and myth. I recently got into playing “Words With Friends” on my iPad, which has reminded me of how intrigued I am by language. Oh, and of course, I am a big reader, both fiction and non-fiction (I love my Kindle). One of the things that charges me up is developing competency in new areas. Hence, after 30 years of teaching, I began a second career as a personal-growth facilitator.
About the one I'm looking for...
I like a guy with good energy: one who is relatively easy-going in a relationship yet strongly motivated to be the best person he can be. That means having an interesting life of his own that he would like to share and who encourages me to pursue my own passions (forget contacting me if you are bored with life). So, to you: “Ideally you would like to travel, dance, swim, read, camp, attend theatre and cultural events, watch movies, talk, dine out -- but still have interests of your own.” I don’t golf, sail, or watch sports or follow financial news, but HAVE done those things and am fine with those being interests of yours. Parallel play is cool! I’d like someone who has kids, grandkids, and values those relationships. Honesty and communication are important to me, as is respect for liberal beliefs and values. Interest in personal growth is a plus. I have many friends, both women and men, but would like to meet a mature man where the relationship has the possibility of going deeper, while having fun.
I'd just like to add...
I was attracted to this site because of its honesty: SENIOR people meet. I like my age and its benefits, which I see as many. I love being a real grown-up! I’ve been divorced nearly 10 years, after a 30-year marriage that was very rewarding in many ways, from which I learned a alot, and which produced two great kids. I am particularly close to my daughter, who has two adorable little girls of her own. This is one of the greatest blessings in my life. What else I love: my 3 pet shelter rabbits who live in the house with me. I have a full, rich life -- travel, my music (I’ve played in several folk bands, and while I almost hate to admit it, I really like early country music), theatre and movies (I love Netflix and have become a big “Doc Martin” fan), cultural events, science fiction, dancing, quilting and sewing, genealogy research, computer projects (I am fairly techie for my generation), swimming and biking and camping, my work (personal-growth oriented), family, yard upkeep (I created a beautiful bird and butterfly garden a few years ago), -- and would like to share time with someone who has some common interests.
