A little about me...
I am an artist and was fortunate enough to have the Portland Museum mount a major retrospective of my work in 2003 along with a companion book, "A Solitude of Space." Art has been my life and very much still is.
My favorite thing that gets me away from the studio is being with my family and friends and having them join me sailing the coast of Maine. I am hoping to meet an interesting and active woman to join me in that venture as well as any that she might like to add to the mix.
I have been active in politics most of my life and try to keep current on what is going on here and in the rest of the world. Ignorance is our fiercest enemy.
I have a wonderful family - five children and four grand-children. They live in California, Florida, New York City and Portland, Maine.
I love music and think that American popular music from the sixties and seventies have documented much of what is wonderful about this great country of ours. I also enjoy great movies and think we are so fortunate to have all this wonderful technology that allows us to enjoy all music, movies and other forms of entertainment. And. if we pay attention, we can be the best informed society this world has ever seen.
About the one I'm looking for...
I do believe that the most wonderful part of life is that found in a caring, loving relationship with another person. It is amazing how such a relationship can grow and evolve. It can compound the positives that are there to grow with if people are committed to those healthy and sensitive aspects of life - and love. I would consider myself fortunate if I would find myself sharing life with a partner who shares this reverence for a caring and loving partnership. When I think of some of the great moments I have experienced in my life I am struck with the pattern common to most instances wherein being able to share the experience with someone I cared very much for enhanced it all for both of us. I think of the truly great paintings I have seen such as Frederick Church's "The Icebergs" at the Dallas Museum, Jackson Pollock's "Autumn Rhythm" at the Metropolitan Museum or Sandro Botticelli's "Primavera" at the Uffizi in Florence and how the experience in each case was enhanced by being able to share such once-in-a- lifetime moments.
It seems there are few eligible women in the 70 to 75 age group. So, I have expanded my search to 60-75 in age. Dahlov Ipcar is 97 and still making amazing paintings!
I'd just like to add...
