A little about me...
I live alone, and I'm divorced and completely unattached. I was born in England, but via Hong Kong, I became Australian. And if you want to know me you have to love Australian things. I work in New York as a partner in a structural engineering company.I have lived and worked in much of western Europe, Hong Kong, Brasil, Australia and the USA. I speak five languages and bits of a couple more. I have worked in Universities on three continents and I have a long research background. Of course I have a PhD, and also a Higher Doctorate but also I was the Telford Gold medalist. I like all things that stretch my intellect. I stay very fit and I enjoy many things physical. I regularly outpace people 30 years my junior.I was recently in Australia to see my parents and my sons and to be invested as an Officer of the Order of Australia (a knighthood). I am a person who wants to share and enjoy things with a special partner. I enjoy to pamper her and to make her feel special. I spent ten years as a single parent, looking after my two sons, so I have crossed the conventional roles, and understand a great deal about these things. It is difficult to find either men or women who are not polarised by these things. I am just an intellectual crocodil
About the one I'm looking for...
Slim, no (or few) hang-ups. Able to appreciate other cultures and viewpoints. Ideally she has interests in a wide range of things, and enjoys discussion of them at a high level. She will be someone who has her own interests, respects that I have mine yet is willing to at least share, and be open about her interests. Respect both ways is a requirement. . Loyalty is perhaps the most important thing to me – we all go through difficult times, but when the chips are down loyalty is axiomatic. I come from a very long-lived family and keep everything at a high level (physicality, intellectual and wanting to "find out" about everything. This gets me into trouble all the time (but it also creates a dynamic and fun environment])), but if you want to have that journey with me it’ll be fun. If you have hang-ups that would stop you from the unconventional then please don’t reply.
I'd just like to add...
I have to add that smoking or any mention of god, religious affiliations, or wanting to eviscerate the human species (by denying climate change for instance) merit an instant delete. Sorry to be in your face but so many people are too stupid to read between the lines. Perhaps this might filter a few out.

My Top Interests:
I play squash and I watch soccer. I have been an English soccer fan for a very long time. I have been to two world cup finals, I have been to Wembley and the Bernabeu. But for all that I support Leeds United. Eight years of misery.
Family and Friends
I have two grown up sons. I am very close to them. I was a single parent for 10 years. My parents live in Queensland and I am also close to them. We are a very long lived family, Even though they are grown up I support my boys through the difficult times, and they support me through mine. What parent could ask for more than that?
While I don't like the process of travel any more, I enjoy being in different places and interacting. Last year I visited Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Brasil and Spain. I speak at least some of the languages in all those countries, apart from New Zealand (70 million of them with white coats on).
