Greeting

A little about me...
I enjoy a variety of activities, indoors and outdoors and am willing to try almost anything new. I'm somewhat adventurous, kind, a good listener, and love having discussions about many topics. I can be a fun person to be with and can be serious or bring out the inner child to play. In part because of my career (being a counselor), I tend to be serious but always enjoy a good laugh, even at myself.

About the one I'm looking for...
I'm seeking a man who is kind, somewhat outgoing, a little adventurous, emotionally stable, enjoys discussions, indoor as well as outdoor activities, he must like dogs. I'd like someone who is at least a little physically active. I'm not an athlete but do like to get outdoors. I prefer someone who isn't a strict couch potato. I enjoy evenings at home, by the fireplace, especially during our cold, dark winters, a good meal, going out to dinner or just preparing a nice meal at home. I value respect, consideration for other people and honesty though I understand complete honesty may not always be a good idea. :) There's a term I use that seems to fit: "carefrontation." If a person has a problem, then, courtesy in discussing it with another person is a good trait. Being careful what one says, how it's said, etc. Assertive, not aggressive. I'm not interested in anyone who smokes, so if you do, please seek elsewhere.

I'd just like to add...
I enjoy dancing though don't get out much, I like biking, hiking, canoeing and kayaking (though have no one to canoe/kayak with so haven't done either in a while), I have a dog who is a best friend, I enjoy reading, exercising at the health club, yoga, plays, concerts and getting together with people. I also enjoy traveling and try to find somewhere to go outside of Alaska two-three times a year. One year I went with my younger son to New Zealand, and we rappelled into a very dark, very large cave - had to climb out on a vertical ladder (that I didn't know and may have changed my mind if I had) :), but it was OK. It's just that it was straight up for a few "stories" and very very dark. The headlights on our hats didn't help much. I also tried sky diving once with my son outside of Las Vegas several years ago. I'm afraid of heights and figured this might be one way to try to get over it. I went tandom with an instructor and loved the free falling part. It wasn't as much fun once the ripcord was pulled, and the parachute came out. I enjoy traveling and seeing new places.
