A little about me...
I love to laugh and live simply. I enjoy a variety of activities : gardening, kayaking, hiking, biking, sailing, music, reading, art and am constantly trying to learn new things and challenge myself to reach beyond my comfort zone. I find people of all types fascinating. I have worked hard all my life and am excited to now have more time to explore my own passions. I want to hike our beautiful National Parks, learn to fly fish and take golf lessons. ( I hope I can play golf better than I play croquet!?)
I have never lived on a lake, but have had the priviledge of staying at the lake cabins of friends and family, as well as church camps, Y-camps, Horse camp, and BWCA camps, so I adore all lake activites and can't think of a better way to spend summer days than at the lake. Listening to the call of a loon or the waves lapping on the shore are heavenly music to my ears! I also graduated from UMD, so Duluth and the BIG lake (Superior) hold special meaning for me.
About the one I'm looking for...
I want a partner with a sense of humor who can laugh at themselves and not sweat the "small stuff". Someone who likes to be outdoors, skiing, biking, hiking and also enjoys social activities and the "arts". Someone who can be totally open and honest and is looking for a committed trusting relationship.
Treating others with respect and dignity as well as having an "attitude of gratitude" are values I hold high. I don't have time for arrogance or attitudes of entitlement.
I would like a partner who enjoys volunteer-type activities and think it would be fun to work together on a project to give back to the community. I have always wanted to work on a Habitat for Humanity site. I am good with a hammer and nails, but don't have a great track record with saws!?
I'd just like to add...
I loved raising my four children , three of whom are married now, and all are living busy, independent lives in the twin city area. While family is extremely important to me, I am enjoying my" empty-nester " time.
Oh, and "must love dogs" i don't currently own a dog but have owned several Golden Retrievers, a Cockerspaniel, and a Rat Terrier.

My Top Interests:
Nature and Outdoors
A day spent outdoors whether walking along a forest trail, beach combing, or simply spending time in my gardens brings me renewed energy and refreshes my spirit. .
Biking, jogging, cross-country skiing are fun ways to stay fit and healthy. I have many items on my bucket list that require me to stay strong and fit .It helps me stay balanced and focused, too
Family and Friends
The most rewarding and the most difficult job I have done in my life was to raise my four wonderful children to adulthood. No grandchildren yet, but all my kids live in the metro area, like each other's spouses, and we have a lot of crazy fun together. I never realized how much fun it would be now that I can just sit back, laugh with them , and enjoy watching their lives unfold!
