A little about me...
I am passionate about my children, my sisters (3, all live in California), my work, my quilting, my music, politics, and my reading. I am smart, funny, loyal and honest; I am diplomatic, and will only advance a comment if it is, in my view, "true and necessary." The only caveat to the foregoing is with my sisters -- who share a wicked comedic streak.
About the one I'm looking for...
I look for someone who is honest, independent, smart -- someone who loves to laugh, to eat, to sing and to dance. Well, dancing is optional, I guess, but the first three are important. I am seeking someone who likes wine in moderation, who is interested in his physical and spiritual health. That doesn't necessarily mean he goes to church (I do), but is in tune with the interconnection of mind and body.
I'd just like to add...
I am politically and religiously "progressive," but I have many friends holding different opinions. I love a good argument (in the sense of discussing ideas and providing reasons -- not in the sense of interpersonal scrapping). I am a very good cook, and make a mean cheesecake.

My Top Interests:
News and Politics
It is important for good citizens to be informed and to understand what is "going on" in the world, in the nation, the state and community. I believe civility is very important and worked with a local group to foster civility in the campaigns leading to November's elections; I love to listen to Minnesota Public Radio, but occasionally watch Fox News to keep up with all "sides" in current events.
Crafts and Creating
I have sewn all my life. In my younger days I did costume design for a community theater in California. More recently I have started quilting. I love quilting because it is something I can do in total silence, and is therefore very serenity-building. Also, it requires careful thought, strong logic / math / geometry skills. I love the challenge of having an idea about a look I am going for, and then effecting that look with fabric. Even my failures (and there have been many) are fun.
Family and Friends
Divorced for fifteen years, my friends, siblings, and kids are my support network. Kids and siblings are scattered across the U.S., so friends nearby are critical to my mental and emotional health. I love to cook for friends; I love to sing with family and friends. That said, I love my solitude and independence. Road-trips are a great way for me to sort out my thoughts.
