A little about me...
Good Lady, PLEASE KNOW that I am neither a wife-beater nor a wife-cheater, neither a drunk nor a doperneither a tax-evader nor any other kind of crook. I am an honest (sometimes painfully honest) and even "responsible" person. If you think that might be boring, let's talk.
I am candid, open, don't like secrecy. I'm a "word person", calm (but not a wacko about it), quiet, thoughtful, and at least TRY to be considerate. Do I ever blow up? Well, it takes a lot -- even then it's verbal, not physical.
Although an atheist, I've had great relations (intimate and otherwise) with devout people -- the sort who really try to emulate Christ in their helpfulness to others, their honesty, and their straightforwardness.
About the one I'm looking for...
Please be petite and slender (5'4", ~105 or 112 pounds max. -- or if your name is Susie, 5'5", 135 pounds) ... please like smiling, singing, snuggling, sensuality and sushi ... please like short (and long) quiet motorcycle trips (BMW, not Harley), uphill hiking or jogging and downhill strolling ... please consider X-country skiing, at gentle pace (but I lack reflexes and coordination for downhill skiing, or tennis) ... please like to laugh ... please like to discuss and debate words and thoughts, for fun -- but NOT to ARGUE ... please plan never to die, because I just HATE when that happens....
(For myself, I'm aiming to at least emulate my dad, who survived to age 96.)
It's fine if you like to play golf, or don't -- but for MY own guidance I trust those doctors who pointed to golfers' temper tantrums and broken clubs, and called golf "the best way there is to spoil the beneficial cardiovascular effects of a good walk."
Please don't mind having a lot of pictures taken, as I like taking a lot of pictures and doing interesting things with them. It's fine if you like to cook, or don't -- but please don't like to cook "too much", as I aim to take in around a thousand or fewer calories a day so that I can stay at around 160 po
I'd just like to add...
My highest admiration is for two men who have been virtually saints: Nelson Mandela, and Pete Seeger. Mandela wrote, "To be free is not merely to cast off one's chains. It is to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others."
For poetic genius I love Paul Simon. My favorite actor: Alec Guiness, but long ago; now I most admire Salma Hayek for amazing work in "Frida".
I am a minimalist, not wealthy, but I don't go hungry and neither would you. I am not retired but usually work only around three or four hours a day, 'round the week. I like classical or bluegrass music while working (no words, so no distraction).
In past lives I have been involved in politics and in drama (is there a difference?!) and in publications -- both pamphleteering and journalism
I prefer people to animals, but well-behaved pets are okay.
I think "astrological sign" is a synonym for "malarkey".
I'm not much of a cook -- but with Trader Joe's magnificent frozen creations, Louis' Basque Corner in Reno, & Amuse Bouche in Surprise, I can always feed best friends in style. Going to, & throwing, parties is a high calling.
If you have misgivings about some minor details I've mentioned, please write to me about them.
