A little about me...
This is a wonderful chapter in my life, one filled with friends, family, and a job I enjoy! I live in Oak Park and I work in Evanston - two of the best places to be! Over the past several years, I have gradually simplified my life and strengthened my spiritual outlook, and I've discovered how good life can be. Life is so easy when judgement and criticism are dropped. And I'm looking forward to more fulfilling chapters approaching retirement and beyond.
I enjoy travel, but feel drawn to "give-back" as well. I believe in the goodness of people, and I greatly enjoy meeting those with different viewpoints. I don't think you can ever have too many friends!
I like biking, and movies, and cooking, and reading, and the Chicago Symphony, and the Art Institute. I like sitting for a glass of wine in the middle of doing those enjoyable things.
I love getting out in nature - the woods, the lake - and walking. It renews my spirit.
I'd like to meet one special person that might enjoy some of those things as well. But to me, what makes a person special is not the things we would "do" together, but rather the way we would "be" together - a warm and trusting and honest relationship.
About the one I'm looking for...
Mostly, I would like to meet simply a "nice guy" - not someone who feels he has to prove something or be better than others. One that makes spending time together easy and enjoyable. ( Aren't we done with the rest of that stuff by now?) I feel the most important attributes for the long term are caring and kindness.
But it's good to have fun - share interests and discover new things together! ( And time alone is good too.)
I'd just like to add...
Family is very important to me, and I respect that position for anyone else's family as well.

My Top Interests:

I wish I could find more time for walking in the woods or sitting by the lake - brings me peace.
It's been a lifelong habit for me - maintains my health and gives me energy.
A great trip a year keeps the mind open!
