Greeting

A little about me...
I chose the title “Eclectic” in my Profile as that is how I see myself. I’ve traveled to 34 different countries, and lived a short time in Spain. I haven't been, and would like to go to: Tibet, travel the Amazon, and to Peru to see the Nasca Lines. Would also to go up in a glider, and, see Africa (but, only as Hemmingway saw it. One of my favorite places – Del Mar in August for the Pacific Coast Classic – Thoroughbred horse racing, my passion. I love to dance, love music -- all kinds; concerts, plays, operas, and movies. (I like drama, but not in life, I enjoy college football, pro football, track & field, basketball, and March Madness. I lived in Prescott, AZ for a short time and started to learn to fly fish before moving. I fished in the Colorado, the Black River in the White Mountains – what a stunning place. I’m also fascinated with quantum physics. I am a highly spontaneous person who always likes to try new things. Novel and unpredictable situations don't bother me; instead I find them challenging and exciting.

About the one I'm looking for...
Spoken by a Native American Elder

It doesn't interest me what you do for a living, I want to know what you ache for and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart's longing. It doesn't interest me how old you are, or how you make a living, I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dreams for the adventure of being alive. If you have been opened by life's betrayals, or have become shriveled and closed from fear of further pain. I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or your own fix it. I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself. . It doesn't interest me to know where you live or how much money you have. I want to know if you can get up after a night of grief and despair, weary and bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done for those you care for. It doesn't matter to me who you are, how you came to be here. I want to know if you will stand in the center of the fire with me and not shrink back. I want to know what sustains you from the inside when all else falls away. I want to know if you can be alone with yourself, and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments.

I'd just like to add...
Life is a cascade of trade off’s; and, I also believe changes. I have a curious nature and that includes my attitude towards change. I believe that one of the reasons we have so much anguish and difficulty in facing change is that we ignore the truth of impermanence. When I hear a mountain stream, or the sound of waves, even my own heartbeat, I hear the sound of impermanence prompting us to let go of all the things we cling to. I think in our minds, changes always equal loss or suffering, we assume, stubbornly and unquestioningly, that permanence provides security and impermanence does not. But in fact impermanence is like some of the people we meet in life – difficult and disturbing at first, but on deeper acquaintance far friendlier and less unnerving that we cold have imagined.
