A little about me...
Thanks for reading my profile. People who know me describe me as passionate, intelligent, thoughtful, optimistic and warm. They typically tell me that I look much younger than my years.
I try to approach life with an attitude of thankfulness, and find when I do that it keeps my life on track and moving forward, whatever the circumstances. I am passionate about living life in all of its dimensions--spiritual, emotional, intellectual and physical and maybe even a couple more I haven't discovered yet! I often feel more shy inside than my outgoing approach may indicate.
I am particularly thankful to have been blessed with friends who continue to be there for me no matter what, good health that lets me participate in life's adventures and my wonderful 19-year-old-son who left home for college in August 2012. I have learned more from being a parent than any other single experience in life.
Some of my strengths are perserverence and finding creative solutions through challenging times, being a good friend, companion, and lover (in a committed relationship). I recently retired from a career doing policy development in the child welfare field and now have a part-time private practice seeing children, youth and families.
About the one I'm looking for...
The most important thing I’m looking for in a match is his consistent ability to approach life from a standpoint of kindness, clear ethics and trustworthiness. I find that attraction to someone is sustained not only by whatever that mysterious "something" is that draws two people together physically and emotionally, but by sharing experiences that affirm common interests and a foundation of trust.
I am sufficiently comfortable with myself that I know I don't need to be a relationship with someone, but I sure would prefer it. I'm looking for someone who shares that perspective and wants to be in a long term relationship to enjoy life's day-to-day opportunities for all kinds of pleasures, sharing new adventures, providing one another a safe place to be ourselves, and wrapping it all up in generous helpings of joy, laughter, and love.
Frequent activities include: Biking or taking long walks on our beautiful Genesee trails; working out, visiting with friends, planning a fun get-away, seeing a quality movie (eating buttered popcorn too--one of my little weaknesses!) I prefer to date someone who also enjoys bicycling.
I'd just like to add...
Cafe Brazil, JAX Fish House , Red Tango provide examples of some of the kinds of restaurants I enjoy. Swimming in the clear ocean at Cancun; Kayaking through the Arches at Cabos. Look forward to trekking mtns. of Peru, bicycling in France/Italy and maybe through bear country in Alaska, rafting in the Grand Canyon.

My Top Interests:
Gotta have it to keep up a quality life!
I enjoy pretty much all types of "the arts"--in which I include good movies, as well as plays, music of almost all kinds, art galleries (love to take in art opening nights!) . I enjoy interesting architecture too.
Nature and Outdoors
The beautiful outdoor world in which we live has something nothing else can provide from an indoor seat . I have the mountains and the ocean "deep in my bones," and choose to be outdoors as much as possible--biking, hiking, walking, swimming...shooting photos...or just sitting on a rock and taking it all in.
